Day Two | The Trial of Keffe D: Who Killed Tupac? Aug 20, 2026
Show notes Day 2 of the Tupac murder trial just delivered the first real courtroom fireworks. Nearly 30 years after Tupac Shakur was gunned down in a drive-by near the Las Vegas Strip, Duane “Keffe D” Davis is finally on trial for orchestrating the killing. On Day 2, the prosecution continued building its case with crime scene evidence, autopsy details, and testimony from people who were deep inside the Death Row and Compton worlds.
Former Las Vegas crime scene analyst Thomas Kern walked the jury through the physical evidence recovered from Tupac’s body and the scene. Medical examiner Dr. Lisa Gavin reviewed the original autopsy findings and confirmed the fatal gunshot wounds that ended the rapper’s life six days after the shooting. Then the temperature rose. James “Mob James” McDonald, a longtime Suge Knight associate and former Death Row figure, took the stand and immediately declared himself a hostile witness.
He locked eyes with Davis multiple times, told the defense attorney their questions were going to get Davis in trouble, and made it clear he had no interest in helping send the defendant to prison. Reggie Wright Jr., the former head of security for Death Row Records, also testified about the security setup that night, the heavy use of cell phones and walkie-talkies, and the aftermath of the shooting. The fight at the MGM Grand after the Mike Tyson fight.
The white Cadillac that pulled up next to Suge Knight’s BMW. The shots that changed hip-hop forever. Day 2 started connecting those dots in real time. This episode covers the key testimony, the tense exchanges, and what it all means as the state tries to prove that Keffe D ordered the hit and supplied the gun that killed Tupac.

Day One | The Trial of Keffe D: Who Killed Tupac? Aug 19, 2026
Show notes Day One of Trial
Nearly 30 years after Tupac Shakur was gunned down on the Las Vegas Strip, the first person ever charged in his murder finally faced a jury.
On the opening day of the trial of Duane “Keffe D” Davis, prosecutors painted a clear picture of revenge. They told jurors that Davis, a former South Side Compton Crips leader, did not pull the trigger—but orchestrated the entire drive-by that killed the 25-year-old rap icon on September 7, 1996. Just hours after Tupac and members of his Death Row entourage beat Davis’s nephew, Orlando “Baby Lane” Anderson, in the lobby of the MGM Grand following a Mike Tyson fight, prosecutors say Davis got a .40-caliber Glock, assembled a crew in a white Cadillac, and made sure the shooters were armed and ready.
Chief Deputy District Attorney Binu Palal told the jury the state’s case rests heavily on Davis’s own words—from a secret 2008 interview with investigators, later statements, and his 2019 memoir Compton Street Legend—in which he described being in the front passenger seat, passing the gun to the back, and watching the shots ring out. “Duane Davis did not pull the trigger. But he did plan the shooting in retaliation for the beating of his nephew,” Palal said. “And remarkably, you will learn that from Duane Davis himself.”
Defense attorney Michael Sanft hit back hard, calling his own client “full of crap” and telling jurors Davis’s long history of self-incriminating stories was just that—stories told for attention and money. “There’s no facts,” Sanft argued. The first witnesses took the stand, including a former Las Vegas Metro officer who rode in the ambulance with a still-conscious Tupac and heard the rapper refuse to name his attackers, saying something to the effect of “we’ll take care of it.” Thirty years of silence, street codes, and unanswered questions collided in a Las Vegas courtroom.
Jim Chapman breaks down everything we learned in day one of this trial, 30 years in the making.

Exposed Investigates: Alexee Trevizo Aug 12, 2026
    Show notes

In the early morning hours of January 27, 2023, 19-year-old Artesia High School senior and cheerleader Alexee Trevizo arrived at Artesia General Hospital in New Mexico complaining of severe back pain. She was with her mother. Staff administered medications, including narcotics. Shortly afterward, Trevizo used a bathroom down the hall. Hospital housekeeping later discovered the body of a newborn boy in a plastic bag inside the bathroom trash can. An autopsy determined the infant—later named Alex Ray Fierro—had been born alive, had air in his lungs, and died from hypoxia consistent with being sealed in the bag. The manner of death was ruled a homicide. Morphine was also detected in the baby’s system. Trevizo was eventually charged with first-degree murder and tampering with evidence. Prosecutors pointed to statements she allegedly made in her hospital room after the discovery, captured on police body cameras while a doctor and armed officers were present: words to the effect of “I’m sorry—it came out of me—I didn’t know what to do,” along with claims the baby showed no movement or breathing.
What followed has become one of the more closely watched legal fights in recent New Mexico true-crime cases. A district court suppressed those hospital statements and related video, citing physician-patient privilege and Trevizo’s compromised medical condition (narcotics, significant blood loss, the trauma of an unexpected delivery). In a unanimous July 30, 2026 ruling, the New Mexico Supreme Court upheld the suppression.
Justices described the doctor’s approach—bringing officers into the room and disclosing medical information without warning—as an “ambush” and found Trevizo lacked the capacity to waive confidentiality. Prosecutors have said they still intend to pursue the case without that evidence. The defense maintains Trevizo did not know she was pregnant until she gave birth and contests key aspects of the medical findings and hospital response. A separate wrongful-death lawsuit has also been filed against the hospital and staff on behalf of the infant’s estate.
This episode examines the night at the hospital, the autopsy findings, the suppressed statements, the Supreme Court’s blistering critique of how the confrontation unfolded, and the difficult questions the case continues to raise about pregnancy denial, medical privacy, and accountability when a newborn dies under these circumstances. The case remains pending.

Nolan Wells Investigation: Cajun Navy, Death Threats, Sealed Autopsy Aug 06, 2026
Show notes In this episode, Jim Chapman breaks down the updates that have occurred over the past few days regarding the investigation into the death of Nolan Wells. Including new audio released of several threats on the life of witnesses leading to (3) arrests so far. The Cajun Navy releases a report that sheds no new light on what happened to Nolan Wells. Nancy Grace doubles down on the enhanced audio of the sea-tow call (and Jim doubles down on debunking it) and Jim also explains why keeping the autopsy report sealed is necessary to avoid tainting a grand jury pool.
On July 4, 2026, Nolan Wells, an 18-year-old Ocean Springs, Mississippi native and incoming freshman football player at Southwest Mississippi Community College, joined a group of friends for a boat trip to Horn Island, a wilderness barrier island off the Mississippi Gulf Coast. Thousands of people were on the island that day. According to his friends, the boat began taking on water that afternoon. They say Nolan chose to stay behind talking to a young woman while they returned to the mainland. His phone made it back. He did not.
