We've been talking about kind words in our house a lot lately — and it turns out the real answer is always the same: it's what's in your heart. Today's episode is a gentle, convicting look at the connection between our hearts and our tongues, for us and for our kids.

Prayer: Lord God, in our passage today, your word says that whatever is in our hearts determines what we say. Help me to see my angry and hurtful words as a sign that my heart needs to change. Please fill my heart with your thoughts and purposes so that the words that come out of my mouth will always be beneficial and loving to those around me. I pray the same thing for my family. We need your help. In Jesus' name, amen.

That command isn't just for the ends of the earth — it's for the ends of our own home. In the carpool line, at the kitchen sink, on the sidelines of practice. Motherhood doesn't put the Great Commission out of reach. It puts it right in front of us.

Prayer: Lord, thank You for the go-and-tell commission, and for the reminder that it begins right here, in our own home, with the children You have placed in our care. Forgive us for the times we’ve rushed past the sacred moments, too busy or too tired to point our children to You. Give us eyes to see our everyday as a mission field. Teach us to pray without ceasing. And let the legacy of our motherhood ripple far beyond what we can see, to generations yet unborn.

Most moms want the same thing: a home that feels safe. Not perfect, not polished, just safe. A place where your kids can breathe, where they can be honest, where they can come to you even when they're scared.

In a situation where John could have easily been jealous and upset, he resisted. He chose to put Jesus above himself. He knew his role and he found joy in it. Our joy is made complete when we take a surrendered posture before Jesus and desire to increase His name and fame and decrease our own.

Prayer: Father, humble the hearts of our families before you today. In a society that praises first place in raving reviews, large platforms, and winning records, Help us and our children to seek your glory above our own. Help us to model for our children what it looks like to live in humility and give them a heart that desires to serve you by serving others. In Jesus' name, amen.

If you've been mothering for any length of time, you've felt it. The tension that flares up out of nowhere. The shame-soaked voice that whispers, you're failing your children. The weariness that settles in even after a full night's sleep.

God has called us to the fight the lies of the enemy and He has equipped us for it.

Prayer: Lord, open our eyes. Make us aware of the battle around us and reveal the truth to us that You have already won. Forgive us for the times we’ve sat passively on the sidelines, unaware of the war that wages for the hearts of our children and the life of our families. Give us the courage of Deborah. Cover our homes with the blood of Christ. Let Your kingdom fill every room, every heart, every ordinary moment of our motherhood. And when the enemy comes with his lies and his schemes, remind us: we are yours, and you have already won.
