Why Karin is dominant, but not cheap; what made Mortal Kombat 11's Shang Tsung reveal so good; Samurai Shodown's 8-frame blunder and more Jun 05, 2019
    Show notes

Karin has been winning Street Fighter 5 major tournaments left and right, and a significant portion of the community is calling her cheap, but is she really? Plus Mortal Kombat 11's netcode is perhaps the best we've ever seen in a fighting game ever, Shang Tsung's reveal trailer is an absolute homerun, the Vice President and Creative Director at Marvel Games tells what the company is looking for when deciding on potential partners, the Japanese Sam Sho demo makes a big WUPS, and we check the mailbag.

    Timestamps

36:28 - Marvel's Bill Rosemann on what it takes to team with Marvel (Chance of another Marvel vs. Capcom?)
42:22 - Mortal Kombat 11 setting the new standard for fighting game netcode?

1:04:00 - Samurai Shodown demo has eight frames of input lag
1:10:22 - Mailbag (How would you buff Ryu to get more people to play him?)

Should Daigo's Gafro controller be banned? Should Cammy be nerfed? Should people be flipping Punk the bird? The answers lie in the EventHubs Podcast May 29, 2019
    Show notes

Daigo has a controller that lets him throw Sonic Booms really efficiently, and the FGC has no idea what to think about it. Plus we have to wonder if Capcom will be giving us more than just characters for Street Fighter 5 come EVO... another balance patch perhaps? And if they do do a balance patch, they should probably consider nerfing Cammy again and they should DEFINITELY consider nerfing Rashid. Mortal Kombat 11 has a very good showing at Combo Breaker, Combo Breaker has a very good showing at Combo Breaker, Punk is showed the middle finger during his very good showing at Combo Breaker and more.

    Timestamps

    01:38 - Too much Rashid
15:18 - Is Cammy too easy to play?
25:40 - Will the SF5 EVO reveal be more than characters?
39:16 - Are you okay with Capcom's communication in 2019?
46:24 - Mortal Kombat 11 looks good at Combo Breaker, SonicFox doesn't win
55:51 - Punk unhappy with Combo Breaker heckler, Capcom addresses the issue on Twitter
    1:03:16 - Daigo's Gafro stick

Daigo doesn't want revenge mechanics in Street Fighter 6, but they're probably here to stay post SF4 and SF5 success; why Rashid makes our blood boil May 22, 2019
    Show notes

Street Fighter 5 breaks 3 million in sales, Daigo does not want to see revenge mechanics come back in Street Fighter 6 (which might not be utilizing the Unreal Engine) we're certain Rashid is too good, we're not certain Cammy is too good, Combo Breaker continues to push the envelope, XsK_Samurai is on fire, and more.

    Show notes

Ono takes to Twitter to remind us all that more Street Fighter 5 content is indeed coming. We look to both the past and future to try to get an idea of what said content might be, when it's most likely to come, and how the community will respond given the three year emotional roller coaster that has been Street Fighter 5.

    Timestamps

    00:50 - Ono's tweets
03:53 - How Capcom has communicated in the past

We also talk a bit about some backlash from 801 Strider over last week's episode of the podcast, discuss the struggles of content creation as BornFree may be ramping down soon, lay out which characters you should be choosing in MK11 if you want to play a top tier and more on this 50th episode of the EventHubs Podcast.

Who is a good character! Who Daigo is now practicing with! We talk about him for a little bit. But also, Mortal Kombat 11 is a week old now, which characters are emerging as seemingly stronger than others, and have those pesky towers been fixed yet? How did Mortal Kombat 11 turn out? Super Smash Bros. has a crab problem, Punk is back on top of the Street Fighter 5 mountain, and more Apr 24, 2019
    Show notes

We've been playin' us some Mortal Kombat 11 for a good week or so now, we get into the good the bad and the beautifully ugly of the latest and greatest from NetherRealm. Also, the Capcom Pro Tour continues to chug along and Punk continues to make Grand Finals. Is his recent come from behind victory against Daigo enough to say he's the best in the business right now? Plus Hungrybox has a crab thrown at him after his win at Pound. It's funny, but it may be indicative that we're starting down a road that we really don't want to be traversing.
