T.I.L.T. Your World: How to Follow God in Everyday Life, with Joel Oechsle – EM214 Oct 18, 2017
    Show notes

Want to be effective in ministering through life and ministry? Joel Oechsle is no stranger to that challenge. Listen and discover how the T.I.L.T. framework might help YOU grow in faith and share your love for Jesus.

    Where are You Listening From?

Living like Jesus can be hard, but it’s always rewarding. Joel Oechsle joins us to talk about four ways that he tries to be like Christ. These four things are truth, integrity, love, and transparency. In the show, he talks about how God taught him these lessons over the years.

From those lessons, God has led him to start an apparel company based on these four ideas. His goal is to spark conversations with people and show Jesus through that. These concepts are more than t-shirt logos; they are meant to be a way of life. From working in construction, to spending time with his family, to working on TILT, Joel hopes to live these ideas out and walk in obedience to where God is leading him (and I think he’s doing a great job of that!).

Does Missionary Fundraising Have to be Hard? with Karl Meisterheim – EM213 Oct 11, 2017
    Show notes

Today, Karl Meisterheim joins us to put the “fun” back in fundraising. He created a program called “Support Goal,” which helps missionaries keep up with fundraising. This program is great at keeping information organized and encouraging missionaries to stay connected.

During the podcast, Karl talks about why he started the program. He also explains how SupportGoal works and who it works best for. His greatest goal is to see missionaries get the support they need to keep doing what God has called them to do. With this program, less time has to be spent organizing. This gives missionaries more time to minister and connect with supporters.

When going into ministry, understanding leadership is very important. Ramon Pastrano joins us to talk about leadership training and how it helps people in different cultures. Over the years, he has worked with different groups in how to see the world through another culture’s eyes. He also helps people find their own strengths and ways to lead others well.

Ramon cares a lot about reflecting Jesus in everything he does. He takes many examples from Jesus’ life in how to lead others. In the U.S., he currently prays that groups will be open to working with others that are different than them. He reminds us that Jesus is the answer to problems today, just as He always has been.

The Wounded Shepherd: How to Find Healing and Hope, with Kevin Moore – EM210 Sep 20, 2017
    Show notes

Sometimes, ministry can be messy. People are imperfect, and sometimes a congregation or a group one is serving can cause pain for their leaders or pastors. Our guest, Kevin Moore, joins us to tell about his time of hurt in the church and how God has used that to help other pastors now.

He now works with current “wounded shepherds” to help them come to a place of healing. By relating with them in their pain, Kevin is able to remind them of their calling that God has given them. Even when ministry causes misfortune, pastors and ministers can cling to God and find healing in His presence.
