    Romans 1:26-27 | Part 1 May 25, 2025
    Show notes

In this sermon on Romans 1:26–27, Pastor Blaine addresses Paul's teaching on dishonorable passions and how both homosexual practice among women and men violates not only God's covenant design for marriage but also His created order. He contrasts the Christian response to shame—bringing it to Christ for forgiveness—with the cultural approach of denying guilt and seeking affirmation. Blaine also answers common objections, such as the claim that Jesus never addressed homosexuality, that Paul was only condemning exploitative practices, or that same-sex desire is "natural." He shows from Scripture that God's moral law is timeless, rooted in creation, and calls everyone to repentance. The message concludes with an invitation to turn from sin, find forgiveness and new identity in Christ, and live with both courage and compassion in a culture that increasingly celebrates what Scripture calls sin.

    Romans 1:24-25 May 18, 2025
    Show notes

In this sermon on Romans 1:24–25, Pastor Blaine explains Paul's warning that when people exchange God's truth for a lie, His judgment is not always fire from heaven but often "giving them up" to their own sinful desires. God's restraint is lifted, and people become enslaved to what they think will bring freedom—especially sexual sin, which Paul highlights as uniquely destructive. Blaine contrasts the culture's cheap view of sex as transactional with God's design for marriage, urging believers to flee immorality and guard their conscience. He warns that idolatry is constantly knocking at our hearts, tempting us to trade the eternal for the temporary, but points to the "great exchange" of the gospel—Jesus giving His glory for our shame—where true freedom and identity are found.

    Romans 1:16-23 May 11, 2025
    Show notes

In this sermon on Romans 1:16–23, Pastor Blaine highlights Paul's declaration that he is "not ashamed of the gospel," because it is God's power for salvation to all who believe. The gospel reveals God's righteousness, given as a gift through faith, and stands as the only true rescue from sin and judgment. Blaine emphasizes that faith is not rooted in our effort but in Christ's finished work, credited to us as righteousness. He then unpacks how humanity suppresses the truth of God revealed in creation, exchanging His glory for idols, and becoming darkened in heart and futile in thinking. The message calls us to see both the weight of God's wrath and the hope of His righteousness, reminding us that only by understanding the depth of our sin can we truly grasp the glory of Christ's salvation.

Romans | Archaeology & History with Dr. Titus Kennedy May 04, 2025
    Show notes

This teaching introduces Paul's letter to the Romans by exploring its historical and archaeological context. Written around AD 57 from Corinth and delivered by Phoebe to the church in Rome, the letter is affirmed as authentic through early manuscripts like Papyrus 46 and quoted by early church fathers. The message highlights Paul's connections in Corinth, the city's wealth and immorality, and key figures like Aquila, Priscilla, and Erastus (attested in inscriptions). It then shifts to Rome itself, describing its vast population, monuments, emperors, and the cultural backdrop of Nero's reign. Evidence shows the gospel was present in Rome early—through Pentecost converts, Jewish and Gentile house churches, and influential believers in government. Archaeological finds, pagan graffiti mocking the crucifixion, and writings from Roman historians further confirm Christianity's presence. The teaching closes with Paul's missionary vision to bring the gospel where Christ was not yet named, showing how Romans set the stage for both theological depth and the church's expansion into the heart of the empire.

    Romans 1:16 Apr 28, 2025
    Show notes

In this sermon on Romans 1:16, Pastor Blaine unpacks Paul's bold declaration that he is "not ashamed of the gospel," even though following Christ cost him influence, status, and comfort, because the gospel is God's power to save everyone who believes. He emphasizes that salvation is not about changing our circumstances but reconciling us to God through Christ. From there, Blaine addresses the debated relationship between Israel and the church, outlining two major views: supersessionism (the church replaces Israel) and the belief that God still has a distinct redemptive plan for ethnic Israel. He explains how different interpretations of Scripture—literal or allegorical—shape views on Israel, the church, baptism, and end times, and argues that while salvation is by faith alone for both Jew and Gentile, God has not abandoned His covenant promises to Israel. The message calls believers to humility, fidelity to Scripture, and charity in secondary disagreements, while rejoicing that through faith in Christ, all are adopted as sons and daughters of God.

    Easter Service | 2025 Apr 20, 2025
    Show notes

In this Easter message, Pastor Blaine explains the good news of the gospel through Ephesians 2. He begins with the bad news—that apart from Christ we are spiritually dead, enslaved to sin, shaped by the world, influenced by Satan, and guilty of both outward and inward rebellion against God. Yet Paul's words "But God" announce hope: because of His great love and rich mercy, God makes us alive in Christ, raising us from death to life through grace. Salvation is not earned but received as a gift, secured by Christ's death and validated by His resurrection. Blaine emphasizes that true faith means more than knowing about Jesus—it means confessing, repenting, trusting Him as Lord, and living a transformed life. The service closes by pointing to baptism as a symbol of dying to sin and being raised with Christ, celebrating that through Jesus we are forgiven, made new, and given eternal hope.

    Romans 1:7-15 Apr 13, 2025
    Show notes

In Romans 1:7–15, Paul shares his deep love for the church in Rome, reminding them they are loved by God and called to be saints. Though he hasn't met them, he prays for them constantly and longs to encourage and be encouraged by their faith. This message explores the power of prayer, the need for mutual discipleship, and the call to preach the gospel to all people—no matter their background. Healthy churches, Paul shows us, are marked by prayer, growth, and evangelism.

    Romans 1:2-6 | Pt. 3 Apr 06, 2025
    Show notes

In this powerful message from Romans 1:2–6, Pastor Blaine walks us through the deep theological roots of Paul's introduction to the book of Romans. He unpacks what it means to receive grace as unmerited favor, explores the shift from individual salvation to the collective calling of the Church, and clarifies how every believer is both saved and sent. Drawing from both Scripture and personal stories, the message challenges us to live with obedience not out of guilt, but from a transformed heart. With bold clarity, Blaine calls us to recognize Jesus as Lord over every part of our lives and to see our salvation not as the final destination, but the beginning of a mission to proclaim the gospel to all nations—for the sake of His name.

    Romans 1:2-6 | Pt.2 Mar 31, 2025

We examine the promise of the gospel in verse 2, the nature of Jesus Christ in verses 3-4, and the results of the gospel in our lives in verses 5-6. Paul emphasizes that the gospel is not a new religious movement but the fulfillment of Old Testament promises. He highlights the authority of Scripture as the basis for theology, challenging us to remain anchored in biblical truth rather than being swayed by personal opinions or modern trends. This teaching encourages us to develop a deeper understanding of God's Word and to allow it to shape our beliefs and lives.
