A former Husker is a big part of the drama between LSU and Ole Miss this upcoming season…and his path to LSU was wild May 15, 2026

Show notes

-Remember Princewill Umanmielen? Yeah, Nebraska sure could use him—and he was here for 2 years before transferring to Ole Miss

last year…where he was an all-SEC pass rusher with 9 sacks and 13 tackles for loss. The Rebels rewarded him with a new contract which

he signed…before he went in the portal and ended up at LSU

-According to CBS Sports, the Rebels weren’t going to let him enter the portal since he had a signed contract and his buyout was going

to be six figures from that…but he still went to LSU. Just that thought alone is wild---buyouts of six figures for college athletes!!!

CBS Sports put out their first ranking of all 138 FBS teams out this week…where does Nebraska stack up? May 15, 2026

Show notes

-The Huskers sit at 35 th in the rankings---which likely would indicate a 6 to 8 win season---and it equates to ranked 10 th in the B1G of all

teams in the league. The Huskers sit right behind Vanderbilt, South Carolina, Boise State and TCU; and ahead of Auburn, VA Tech,

Virginia, and Arizona State, among others (Minnesota is at 40 th )

-6 of Nebraska’s opponents sit ahead of them on the rankings---so if you use that, they might put Nebraska at 6-6 unless there’s an

upset in there…regardless, 3 B1G teams are in the top 6 of the rankings (Ohio State – 1; Oregon – 3; and Indiana – 6)

Husker baseball starts a 3-game series tonight at Minnesota to wrap up its regular season…do they need to sweep? May 14, 2026

Show notes

-Nebraska comes off an impressive 8-4 win at Creighton on Tuesday after a sweep of Iowa, and still has eyes on hosting a regional in

Lincoln---where they’ve lost just one game this season (vs. Kansas). The importance of hosting seems pretty important for their hopes

of making a super regional…

-Can they survive any loss in Minneapolis or does it have to be a sweep no matter what, with added success in the B1G Tournament?
