Did Matt Corral’s injury for Ole Miss in their bowl game change Sip’s stance at all about player opt-outs? Jan 04, 2022

Show notes

-Matt Corral was adamant about playing in the Sugar Bowl, and Sip cheered for it—as did Jake and a lot of college football fans. There’s a lot of anger toward this topic out there

-Corral suffered a right leg injury in the first quarter of the game and was carted off, but X-rays were negative and it was just a sprained ankle. Corral is expected to be a first round pick. Any change in stances on this at all or not?

Is there anything wrong with simply making the Rose Bowl as the new long-term goal for Nebraska football? Jan 04, 2022

Show notes

-When you’ve missed 5 straight bowl games, anything sounds good for a bowl game. But think about how long that we laughed at B1G teams for simply having the Rose Bowl as their goal for the season instead of the national championship

-Seeing how badly Michigan got roasted by Georgia after just pounding Ohio State makes it pretty clear how far even the best of the B1G are from the elite of college football

-So….a division title is always the goal…but is making the Rose Bowl the new top goal? Because a national title just really doesn’t seem feasible.
