Bruce Feldman says the early leaders in the race for Nebraska’s next head coach are Lance Leipold, Matt Campbell and Bill O’Brien Sep 21, 2022

Show notes

-That was the report yesterday via Feldman of The Athletic. These are names that no one really is surprised to see, as all 3 had pretty high odds on the initial glimpse at the open position

-For Leipold, the season is off to a great start at Kansas. Can he keep it up? What is he doing that Kansas hadn’t been doing before?

-For Campbell and O’Brien…what do you like most about them and dislike most about them

Mickey Joseph discusses why Erik Chinander was let go and more from yesterday’s press conference Sep 21, 2022

Show notes

-Joseph took the podium on Nebraska’s bye week yesterday and said “Chins” is a good man and a good coach, but the numbers didn’t up defensively. Hard to argue against that, obviously.

-Also, as we expected, Ajay Allen is officially out for the season and will redshirt with a season-ending injury

Can Nebraska get a coach on the rise this time around or is it likely a coach on the way down? Sep 20, 2022

Show notes

-Example: Matt Rhule. He’s not likely to last long in Carolina, with 2 horrid losses to begin the season against the Browns and Giants. He would be on the way down after a bad stint in the NFL

-Urban Meyer is technically on the way down as well, despite already being out of a job.

-Is this a hire you expect to be an up-and-comer or someone on the way down?
