There’s a few really painful stats out there that show how miserable the last 5 seasons have been for Nebraska Nov 08, 2022

Show notes

-Per the World Herald’s Sam McKewon, Nebraska is 5-32 since 2017 against teams with 6 wins or more on the season. To break that down, Nebraska is 1-3 against teams that ended with 6 wins; 4-4 against teams that finished with 7 wins; and 0-25 against teams that finished with 8 or more wins

-That means there’s not even really one win to write home about the last 5 seasons. Not one! 4 ‘OK’ wins against teams that ended with 7 wins. But nothing beyond that.

-Also, as we pointed out yesterday, Nebraska now has the longest bowl streak of any Power 5 football team, with Kansas having qualified for a bowl. Rock bottom is getting pretty old.

The Colts must listen to Jake’s NFL Winners and Losers, because Frank Reich is OUT as head coach Nov 08, 2022

Show notes

-Yesterday, Jake (and Sip) both ripped Reich and the Colts for their handling of the QB situation, and following an embarrassing 26-3 loss to the Patriots, Frank Reich was fired on Monday.

There’s a chance Nebraska has both a 1,000 yard rusher AND 1,000 yard receiver, and still go 3-9 on the season Nov 08, 2022

Show notes

-Anthony Grant sits at 858 yards with 3 games to go, and Trey Palmer is at 819 yards with 3 games left. We ask for balance on offense, and it feels like Nebraska is pass-happy, but they still might achieve both milestones

-This kind of feels like when we said Nebrasketball needs NBA players to win---they had them and didn’t win. Sometimes our presumptions just aren’t right. 2 milestone years likely will all be for naught.

Why is it so difficult for a team to find ways to close out games, for so many years? Nov 07, 2022

Show notes

-Nebraska has lost so many close games the last 5 years, and Saturday was another example. Caleb Tannor said the team got ‘comfortable’ and that the Gophers ‘wanted it more’…that doesn’t really resonate well with a belief of winning

-How can that type of mindset actually exist? Does this team just expect to lose?

-Also, congratulations to Lance Leipold at the Kansas Jayhawks, who are going bowling after getting their 6th win of the season against Oklahoma State
