Nebrasketball is back in action tonight at 8:15pm against Boston College…and it feels like a game Hoiberg needs to win / Shut Up Sipple (sponsored by Bagels & Joe) Nov 30, 2022

Show notes

-It’s obviously very early in the season for any game to be a ‘must win,’ but with Creighton on the horizon on Sunday and conference games after that, the schedule gets tough---and beating a Power 5 team would provide confidence

-Boston College has losses to Maine and Tarleton State this year, to tell you of how things are going for the Golden Eagles. Why can’t we call this a ‘must win’?

-Beyond those 2, who is next most important? You already know Trey Palmer is gone. Does it go right to Garrett Nelson? Some might go to Ajay Allen for what he showed before he got hurt…and don’t forget

-Regarding Ajay Allen, his future at Nebraska looks bleak as Bryan Applewhite is replaced by E.J. Barthel from UConn

We’ve consumed a lot of Kool-Aid the last few days….what concerns do you have regarding Matt Rhule and his coaching potential? Nov 30, 2022

Show notes

-The same fans that talk about Rhule’s rise at Temple and Baylor could easily compare him to Scott Frost and what he did at UCF before he came to Lincoln

-At Temple, they weren’t in complete disarray when he was hired; Al Golden had Temple successful in years prior. And at Baylor, the program had success before it was torn down by scandal, and Rhule went from 1 win to 7 wins to 11 wins before bouncing to the NFL. Similar to Frost at UCF (except he never had the 1 win season)…..are these fair comparisons or not?

-Also, Garrett Nelson named 2nd-team All B1G on defense…no one else made a top 3 team from Nebraska

Trev Alberts said several times that Matt Rhule was candidate 1A of 13 coaches that were interviewed…is there any reason to believe otherwise? Nov 29, 2022

Show notes

-Alberts said both in the main podium and on the side that 13 coaches were interviewed and Rhule was the top target the whole time; Rhule said he had other job offers besides Nebraska but chose Lincoln

-Alberts also said in the side session that the contract was signed on Thanksgiving morning at 11am for Rhule to come to Nebraska, after both sides were trying to make it happen and finally did

-Rhule said it was important to have leadership all aligned together, which is what he sees in Lincoln…seems like it’s been a long time since that could be said
