Nebrasketball got back on track with a big win against a potential NCAA Tournament team…are we back to feeling OK? Jan 22, 2024
    Show notes

-Without Juwan Gary, Nebraska came out and appeared to be the more physical team against Northwestern, outrebounding the Wildcats, 40-26, in a game that the Huskers won, 75-69

-Josiah Allick was great in his starting role (15 points), and Keisei Tominaga hit the game-clinching 3-pointer at the end to put it away….Nebraska is now 14-5 overall and 4-4 in conference play

    Show notes

-Sip was in Hawaii all last week---during the miserably cold week in Nebraska---to cover the entirety of practices leading up to Friday’s Polynesian Bowl, with Husker signees Dylan Raiola and Carter Nelson as part of the teams

-Sip had conversations with the likes of Tua/Taulia Tagovailoa’s father, Mike Zimmer, and more…what were the most telling stories and takeaways Sip had?

-In the game itself, Raiola threw a 40-yard TD pass and Nelson had 3 catches for 65 yards…

Danny Nee will be in attendance tomorrow for Alumni Day for Nebrasketball…did we ever realize how good we had it when he was here? Jan 19, 2024
    Show notes

-Nee was Nebraska’s coach from 1986-2000, coming over from a successful stint at Ohio. His tenure at Nebraska resulted in only 3 losing seasons out of 14; and 2 of those were in his first 4 years.

-Following the first 4 years, Nee made the NCAA Tournament in 5 of 8 years, including a stretch of 4 years in a row—despite never winning a game in the Dance

-He was let go in 2000 after a disappointing 11-19 campaign…but his teams had won 20 games in each of the 2 seasons prior to that. There’s never been a run like that ever before or since his tenure…

    Show notes

-Miami (FL) tight end Cam McCormick started school at Oregon in 2016, and just got approved for a 9th (!) year of eligibility this year for the Hurricanes
