If the loss to Illinois was a wake-up call, how does Nebraska make sure that doesn’t happen again? Sep 25, 2024

Show notes

-As mentioned earlier in the show, it sounded a little like Illinois wanted this game more than Nebraska did and was the aggressor compared to the Huskers

-A lot of the players on this team haven’t experienced success on the field at Nebraska…is there a chance the team wasn’t as ready to go as they should be for their first conference game?

-The hope is that this doesn’t happen again…there’s no reason for a flat team on Saturday at Purdue, right?

Sean Callahan (Husker Online) Sep 25, 2024

Show notes

-How do you explain Nebraska’s unbelievable lack of success in overtime over the last 10 years?

-Purdue is giving up 269 yards per game on the ground and has allowed 32 runs of 10+ yards---15 more than the 2^nd-highest amount in the B1G---will the Huskers stick to the ground or let Dylan air it out?

-We ask about the kicking game every week, because it’s a problem every week. Is this 2019 all over again with that unit?

Tony White and Marcus Satterfield met with media yesterday with the same message as Matt Rhule---Nebraska needs to be better than what they showed on Friday night Sep 25, 2024

Show notes

-White said Nebraska’s third down defense “wasn’t coordinated well enough” with the pass rush and secondary not being on the page at the same time

-Satterfield said his WRs need to be able to make plays on the 2 interceptions credited to Dylan Raiola so far—both which were catchable upon review…he also said it’s hard to believe that Purdue is giving up 269 rush yards per game based on film review

-Isaac Gifford said Illinois came in and “punched them in the mouth”…were the players reading press clippings after a 3-0 start? Concerning if so…
