Whenever Kirk Ferentz retires, a popular pick to replace him will be Bret Bielema…are we sure that he’d want the job? / Shut Up Sipple (sponsored by Bagels & Joe) Jun 23, 2025

Show notes

The Illinois head coach was on Pardon My Take last week and was asked about the Iowa job---his alma mater---and told the guys that he has a non-compete with every school in the B1G. He said, “I know everyone thinks I want to go to Iowa. I don’t want to go to Iowa.”

He pointed out he spent 5 good years there but apparently has no interest in the job. How does that make a Hawkeye fan feel about someone who attended there?

Sip had a conversation on Friday with Dana Holgorsen…how does the former head coach operate in a world where he’s no longer the man in charge? Jun 23, 2025

Show notes

Holgorsen of course came in late last season to Nebraska to help its sputtering offense, and the Huskers found their way to a bowl game and won that game vs. Boston College. In Sip’s convo, he was told that Holgorsen is “enjoying the heck” out of this role as the offensive coordinator

How difficult is that to go from man in charge to coordinator? Even if you’re OK with it for a while, does it always stay that way?

LSU takes the CWS in a 2-game sweep, but an early ump show in the first inning of yesterday’s Game 2 was an unfortunate blemish on the game Jun 23, 2025

Show notes

LSU won game 2 on Sunday, 5-3, to clinch their 2nd CWS title in 3 years. Coastal Carolina head coach Kevin Schnall and first base coach Matt Schilling were ejected in the first inning of Sunday’s game by home plate ump Angel Campos, and if the Chants would have won, Schnall wouldn’t have been able to coach in Game 3

Seems like a lot that early in the game of a must-win for Coastal, but that’s a different story---as LSU claims the title in Omaha
