There were some really, REALLY good games in college basketball this weekend / Shut Up Sipple (sponsored by Bagels & Joe) Feb 09, 2026

Show notes

-We will have our B1G Power Rankings tomorrow at 8am, and there will be some movement---how about Michigan State taking down

Illinois, 85-82, in OT on Saturday night in East Lansing

-That wasn’t all though across the country---North Carolina upset Duke on a buzzer-beater, Creighton hit a 3-pointer with 2 seconds left

to beat Seton Hall; and Indiana had late FTs to beat Wisconsin, 78-77, in OT at home…and St. John’s win over UConn on Friday was also

awesome

Nebrasketball took care of business with an 80-68 win at Rutgers on Saturday…are fans breathing a little more freely now? Feb 09, 2026

Show notes

-There was absolutely zero shame in either of the 2 losses coming into Saturday’s game---at Michigan and home vs. Illinois----but

Husker fans don’t know what a successful basketball team looks like and had some trepidation

-That fear was eased by a 14-point halftime lead and a comfortable lead the entire 2 nd half….and Rienk Mast looked great, scoring 26

points on 11/20 shooting. That’s a real reason for a sigh of relief. Up next: Purdue at PBA tomorrow night at 6pm

Rob Aurich

-Also, Husker softball starts their season in San Antonio at 3-2….with one of those wins being an 8-5 win over No. 1 Texas….not bad
