Things FINALLY are moving for Nebrasketball in the portal, as 2 likely starters were added to the team since Friday Apr 20, 2026

Show notes

-We’ve been waiting---somewhat impatiently---for Fred Hoiberg to land some transfer portal players (beyond Belmont’s Sam Orme)…and the

Huskers did just that with 3 players added in a 24 hour span

-The Huskers added Trevan Leonhardt (Utah Valley State) who can almost certainly be slated in as the starting point guard next year; Boden

Kapke (Boston College), your likely 5 man; and Kadyn Betts (Montana), who will be a depth piece….also, Berke Buyukentcel is off

to…VANDERBILT

In front of packed crowds, Nebraska baseball made a STATEMENT with a series sweep of No. 12 USC Apr 20, 2026

Show notes

-Haymarket Park was packed all 3 games for Nebraska, and it didn’t look good on Friday…Nebraska trailed 5-0 and then 7-2 in the 8 th inning

before a magical comeback and a crazy end to the game on a bunt that led to a bad throw to first and an 8-7 win

-Then, Nebraska won 12-2 (7 innings on Saturday) and overcame an early 5-2 deficit Sunday to blow out the Trojans, thanks to a grand slam

from Drew Grego and a team clicking on all cylinders on offense…all while softball continues to dominate with 11 straight wins, also

We’re all aware of rain and weather delays….but what about an ‘umpire sickness’ delay? Apr 17, 2026

Show notes

-In a game that featured 2 rain delays---an 1 hour, 5 minute delay before the game even started and another 47 minute delay in the 7 th

inning---the story of the day was home plate umpire Andy Fletcher’s ‘stomach problems’ in yesterday’s Tigers/Royals game in Detroit

-Fletcher had to run to the dugout earlier in the game and eventually had to leave the game after sprinting to the Tigers dugout to go

to the bathroom and not returning….which led to the game going to 3 umps. Atomic dumps!!!
