    Dying Laughing with Jessimae

Welcome to Dying Laughing — the comedy podcast that explores grief in all its messy, magical, and mortifying glory.

Hosted by stand-up comedian, Netflix host, and professional grief reliever Jessimae Peluso  aka your favorite “comedy death doula” and “griefluencer” , this show dares to laugh in the face of death, because if you’re not laughing, you’re crying in a Marshall’s fitting room while listening to Fleetwood Mac on repeat.

You’re going to lose a lot in this life: your loved ones, your job, your dog (way harder than your ex), your relationship, your mind, your appetite and yes, your favorite necklace that your dad gave you (which your toxic ex absolutely kept).

While all of that sounds brutal, it can also be beautiful. I call it brutiful.

Each week, I invite you into real, raw, and ridiculously funny conversations about how we survive loss, reclaim joy, and sometimes ugly-cry in public. Everything deserves a proper burial – even our dignity.

Welcome to Dying Laughing with Jessimae. 💀🖤

EPISODE 50: A Mother's Grief: Love Beyond Loss | Rachel Stewart (Part 1)

    Dying Laughing with Jessimae

Can the people we love still find ways to reach us after they're gone?

In Part 1 of this deeply personal two-part conversation, Jessimae sits down with Rachel Stewart, who lost her 10-year-old daughter, Kenadie, to cancer in 2018.

Rachel opens up about the devastating physical and emotional pain of losing a child, how grief transformed her family, and the impossible reality of mourning one daughter while continuing to show up as a mother to another.

Once a skeptic, Rachel shares how a reading with a psychic challenged her beliefs about death and opened her to the possibility that Kenadie was still finding ways to connect with her.

She also recounts her first shared death experience, a profound moment that helped set her on an unexpected path of spiritual exploration, healing, and eventually helping others navigate their own losses.

Together, Jessimae and Rachel explore the unseen connections between us and the people we've lost, how meditation may help us become more receptive to those connections, and the possibility that love doesn't end when life does.

In Part 2: Rachel shares more of the remarkable signs and experiences she attributes to Kenadie, and how her journey inspired For 11 and the Living Connected community.

Because sometimes grief doesn't just change your life. It changes everything you believe about it.

Dying Laughing...Because even grief deserves a punchline. ❤️

Relief & The Leaf: Finding Peace After Grief and Trauma | Jessimae Peluso Oct 13, 2026
    Show notes

EPISODE 49: Relief and the Leaf: Finding Peace After Grief and Trauma

    Dying Laughing with Jessimae

Sometimes the hardest thing to let go of isn't a person. It's the chaos you've spent your entire life learning how to survive.

In this deeply personal (RE-RELEASED) episode from Jessimae's original Grief Survival Guide, we go from an allegedly near-disastrous encounter with Aruba customs over some marijuana to the much deeper work of unpacking childhood trauma, family dysfunction, and the complicated emotions that surface after losing someone you love.

Jessimae opens up about growing up in a chaotic household, becoming exceptionally good at managing everyone else's mess, experiences of sexual and emotional abuse, and the unexpected relief that can sometimes accompany grief.

But what happens when the chaos finally stops? How do you recognize what still needs healing? And what if the peace you've been searching for was never something you could find outside yourself?

Sometimes the miracle on the other side of tragedy isn't getting something back. It's discovering what you can finally put down.

So ask yourself: What are you holding onto that's holding you back?

From the vault. Same grief. Same bitch. ❤️

***Content note: This episode includes personal discussions of sexual and emotional abuse. As well as a heightened emotional state due to the host being in the throes of grief. Listen with caution.***

The Hills I’ll Die On: Petty Opinions I Refuse to Change | Jessimae Peluso Oct 06, 2026
    Show notes

Everyone has an opinion they’re willing to defend for absolutely no good reason.

This week, Jessimae shares the Hills She’ll Die On—the petty, irrational, and occasionally completely justified beliefs she refuses to budge on.

The Big Light is an act of aggression. Speakerphone in public makes your conversation everyone’s conversation. Irish goodbyes are efficient, not rude. And if you say you don’t want dessert and then reach your fork toward hers, prepare for consequences.

Then Jessimae gets into YOUR submissions to decide which hills are valid, which are insane, and which prove some of you should not be allowed to make decisions unsupervised.

No politics. No religion. No actual stakes. Just very strong opinions about shit that absolutely does not matter.

What’s the hill you’ll die on?

The Death Scroll: A Postcard From Heaven, Spotify for Your Urn & RIP News | Jessimae Peluso Sep 29, 2026
    Show notes

EPISODE 47: The Death Scroll: A Postcard From Heaven, Spotify for Your Urn & RIP News

    Dying Laughing with Jessimae

Death has a publicist, and apparently she's been BUSY.

Jessimae goes scrolling through the death side of the internet for THE DEATH SCROLL...a collection of weird, funny, touching and completely unhinged stories about death and what happens after we're gone.

A postcard from dead parents arrives 26 years late. Spotify and Liquid Death create an urn that can play your music for eternity. A daughter goes to check on her sick father, finds the locks changed and ends up climbing through a window—only to discover an even stranger situation involving his home. And the death of “Barely Breathing” singer Duncan Sheik presents an unfortunate moral dilemma for comedians everywhere.

Is it a sign or a postal fuckup? What's playing from your urn for eternity? And what the actual fuck is happening on the internet?

Welcome to The Death Scroll. The internet remains undefeated.

Marijuana & Meditation: How To Grieve And Still Live Your Life | Dying Laughing with Jessimae Sep 23, 2026
    Show notes

EPISODE 46: Marijuana & Meditation - How To Grieve And Still Live Life

    Dying Laughing with Jessimae

In this rereleased episode, (Part * of Grief Survival Guide miniseries) Marijuana & Meditation: How To Grieve And Still Live Life, Jessimae originally released as part of Jessimae’s Grief Survival Guide, Meditation and Marijuana goes back into the vault to answer one very simple question: How do you grieve someone you love and still live your life?

After losing her mom, meditation and marijuana became part of Jessimae’s healing process, along with moving to upstate New York to be near her family, and entering the very real “I DO NOT GIVE A FUCK HOW I LOOK” phase of grief.

Jessimae gets into the strange ways emotional pain can show up in the body, finding whatever helps you get through the day, Blue Zones, longevity, libations, and learning that healing doesn’t always look particularly… healed.

Because there’s no perfect way to grieve. Sometimes you meditate. Sometimes you smoke a little weed. Sometimes you eat the bread. You’re still here. Keep fucking living.

    44 Things I Know at 44 (And Some Sh*t I Still Don’t) | Jessimae Peluso Sep 15, 2026

    EPISODE 45: 44 Things I Know at 44 (And Some Shit I Still Don’t) | Jessimae Peluso

    Dying Laughing with Jessimae

Jessimae turns 44 this week, and instead of pretending she’s unlocked the secrets of the universe, she’s sharing 44 things she know...or at least strongly suspects..at 44.

From love, money, friendship and grief to dogs, getting older, trusting your gut, asking for more, letting people go and why nobody is thinking about you nearly as much as you think they are.

Some lessons took 44 years to learn. Some have required approximately 700 reminders. And some are just the increasingly confident opinions of a woman rapidly running out of fucks.

A birthday episode about getting older, getting wiser and realizing that maybe having everything figured out was never the point.

EPISODE 44: You’re Not Dead Yet: Losing His Dad on 9/11 | Host of Dead Talks podcast David Ferrugio

    Dying Laughing with Jessimae

This week marks 25 years since September 11th. David Ferrugio, host and creator of DeadTalks and author of the upcoming book You’re Not Dead Yet, was just 12 years old when his father died on 9/11.

David joins Jessimae to talk about growing up alongside grief, what it’s like when the entire country remembers the worst day of your life, still wanting our dead dads’ approval, and how losing someone can completely change the way you choose to live.

Most importantly, they remember who David’s father was—not just how he died.

Plus, two fatherless Italians talking about death. So naturally, there are laughs.

EPISODE 42: The Greatest Fumbles in Sports & Life | Jessimae Peluso

    Dying Laughing with Jessimae

Everybody drops the ball. This week, Jessimae tackles life's biggest fumbles, from money and missed opportunities to bad relationships, career choices, regret and the mistakes that may have actually changed our lives for the better. She looks back at some of her own questionable decisions, including the opportunities she let go, the relationships she stayed in too long and the moments when hindsight made everything look a lot clearer than it felt at the time.

Plus, listeners share the balls they wish they hadn't dropped, the people they chased instead of their dreams, the grudges they held too long and the choices that seemed like failures but ultimately led them somewhere better. Because sometimes a fumble is just a fumble, and sometimes dropping one ball is how you finally get your hands free to catch another.
