Show notes

Hayden Winks of NBC Sports Edge joins us for Episode 5 of the "What I Got Wrong" series. We're looking at the changing landscape of QB drafting -- which might have seen a significant shift in 2020. We're also taking another look at Chiefs RB Clyde Edwards-Helaire and Rams TE Tyler Higbee, as well as discussing the challenges of regular season's quick information churn. Stick around to the end and you'll even hear an analytics guy talk ponder whether we're worrying too much about regression to the mean.

Guest Mike Tagliere 2-10-21 Feb 11, 2021

Show notes

We're talking about Bills WR Stefon Diggs once again on Episode 3 in our "What I Got Wrong" series. This time Mike Tagliere of Fantasy Pros joins us to try to talk about betting on talent. We're also taking another shot at the season perhaps we should have foreseen for Chargers WR Keenan Allen. But before we get to those guys, Mike leads us into tackling the Bengals' passing game. Was A.J. Green the kind of "miss" that we shouldn't regret in our fantasy football drafts?

Guest Mike Clay 2-10-21 Feb 10, 2021

Show notes

We've been interacting with Mike Clay for years, and he's long ranking among the most respectable fantasy football prognosticators. So he was a natural fit for our "What I Got Wrong" series. We're looking at Stefon Diggs and Josh Allen, the resurgence of Aaron Rodgers and whether it was actually wrong to like Kenyan Drake. We'll also discuss D.K. Metcalf, Will Fuller, T.Y. Hilton, Tyler Higbee and Chris Herndon ... as well as some general fantasy football draft strategy along the way.

Guest JJ Zachariason 2-9-21 Feb 10, 2021

Show notes

One thing we know as we put together our projections each year is that we'll get some things wrong. Some of those missed calls can teach us lessons that will help us draft better in 2021 and beyond. So we're inviting some top-shelf guests to run through some of this season's biggest misses and see what we can learn. In this 1st episode, JJ Zachariason -- editor-in-chief at FanDuel and numberFire and host of The Late-Round Podcast -- joins us to talk Stefon Diggs, Keenan Allen and, of course, QBs.

DFS Divisional Round Preview 1-15-21 Jan 15, 2021

Show notes

You're not going to surprise anyone with lineups featuring Patrick Mahomes, Travis Kelce and/or Tyreek Hill this week. Even Baker Mayfield and Jarvis Landry might prove chalky on the other side of this week's highest over/under. But we might still be able to unearth some more-hidden gems from that matchup. There's another game we're all mostly fading this week ... plus a couple more that might be difficult to read (or agree on).

Let's get to the picks:

QB ... 6:02

RB ... 10:17

WR ... 18:41

TE ... 26:38

Defense ... 30:15

Divisional Round Preview 1-12-21 Jan 13, 2021

Show notes

Derrick Henry let a lot of FFPC Playoff Challenge teams down last weekend. But did he kill your chances of winning? Nick Chubb and Cam Akers each outperformed expectations and gave teams at least 1 game beyond what most anticipated. How do they fit into plans for setting Round 2 lineups? And what should we expect from tight matchups in the Bills-Ravens and Saints-Buccaneers contests? Matt, Mike and Adam gather to look back and then look ahead.

Check out our full Divisional Round fantasy rankings, and visit the Lineup Generator to get a jump on your DFS play for the weekend.

Wild Card DFS Preview 1-8-21 Jan 08, 2021

Show notes

Derrick Henry and Alvin Kamara hit Wild Card weekend as the only true stud RBs on the schedule ... but does that make "must" plays out of both -- or neither? Expensive QBs look attractive on both DraftKings and FanDuel, but we also have some lower-prices favorites. The top value at RB just might be a player who has spent several weeks on the injury report. And WR looks loaded despite just a 6-game pool.

Let's get to the picks:

QB ... 9:21

RB ... 15:13

WR ... 23:09

TE ... 29:28

Flex ... 34:11

Defense ... 36:54

Check out our full rankings for the Wild Card round. Jared has advice for playing on DK this weekend, while Tyler covers the FanDuel strategy. And check out the Lineup Generator to start building your own entries.
