The Denver Broncos went all-in with a blockbuster trade for Jaylen Waddle — but what does it mean for their NFL Draft strategy?
On the DNVR Draft Podcast, we break down the full draft implications of the Waddle trade and how it reshapes Denver’s roster-building approach under Sean Payton and George Paton.
Waddle Trade Review
What draft capital did the Broncos give up — and more importantly, what tiers of prospects are they now missing out on? We compare the Waddle deal to recent blockbuster wide receiver trades involving players like Stefon Diggs, A.J. Brown, Tyreek Hill, and Davante Adams to see how Denver’s move stacks up.
Building the Broncos
With wide receiver now a strength, how does that shift the Broncos’ draft priorities?
• Our favorite late Round 2 targets and potential value picks
• Prospects with injuries, age concerns, or down years who could fall (McCoy, Banks, Bell, Mesidor, DDS)
• Best early Day 3 sleepers to target
• Why linebacker, defensive back, and tight end depth still make sense
• The big question: what do the Broncos do at running back now?
We also explore how adding Waddle impacts the rest of the offense and whether Denver should still invest in skill positions or shift focus to other areas of need.
Join Jake Schwanitz, Henry Chisholm and Andre Simone for the latest breakdown of the Broncos’ draft strategy, roster needs, and potential targets.
