Pickaxe Podcast: The Final Episode Mar 08, 2021

Show notes

To everyone who has listened to the Pickaxe over the past four years I thank you. Those who were there at the beginning suffered through hours of lousy audio and rambling while I figured out how to do this whole podcast thing from scratch (ok, the rambling never really went away). It’s been an absolute pleasure to share Gordon and I’s discussions on the Denver Nuggets and whatever else we wandered off to with all of you. I hope that we were able to make you laugh and to make you think about the Nuggets and the multitude of aspects that go along with the day to day of an NBA team. If you told me when I started that we’d make 148 of these things and average over a thousand listens per episode I’d have said you were nuts. It truly was an honor to get to share all of this with you, thank you from the bottom of my heart for helping me accomplish a dream.

Both hosts were in high spirits after a recent uptick in Michael Porter Jr.’s game with 4 double doubles in his last 5 games and Jamal Murray’s efficient, 10 game streak with 20 or more points.

Jena and Reilly give you a unique set of takeaways from Milwaukee and Chicago and of course Reilly had to eat some crow on her Jamal Murray takes. And each host speaks to this recent resurgence of the team and what has been going well over the last couple of games, while remembering that this team just lost to the Wizards for a second time and to the Kings three times this year. And there was a short detour in the pod where Jena explores the Reilly’s obvious lack of knowledge around former Rockies players. In fact, this pod is not just for avid Nuggets fans but a good laugh for Rockies fans as well.
