    Delicious City Philly

Delicious City Philly is the top-rated food and restaurant podcast in the Philadelphia area. Our show is 3 hungry people – Eli Kulp, Marisa Magnatta and Dave Wez – all with different palates, but one thing in common: we LOVE the taste of Philly, and there’s a lot to love in this city of ours. We explore outside of the city limits, too, from down the Jersey shore to Pennsylvania Dutch country and everywhere in between. Every other Monday you’ll get the latest food news, our Best Bites, and the scoop on area restaurants and bars. Plus, we sit down with the people who are making waves in this scene and bring their stories straight to you. Follow the show on Instagram: @deliciouscitypodcast

Ep. 170: Chef Evan Snyder is Fired Up, Literally Jul 13, 2026
    Show notes

Chef Evan Snyder can't slow down, which is great news for Philly. After years of pop-ups and collabs (which he's still doing a ton of) he opened Emmett in 2025, and just recently returned from a trip to the James Beard Awards. His next move: a tasting menu experience fueled by fire.

With his managing partner Julian Van Der Tak, they're opening Jean upstairs from Emmett. Evan gives us the first details on Jean, and recaps his experience at the James Beard ceremony and what the nomination means to him. Eli explains why he loves the adrenaline of a slammed dinner service, and everyone shares a round of Best Bites (with a few different stops to find freshly baked bread).

    • (00:00) Marisa's impressive backflip
    • (05:35) Chef Evan Snyder of Emmett, his James Beard experience

    • (37:33) The Dish: summer specials and Philly events

And of course, we could not do this without our amazing partners who are as passionate about food and drink as we are:
