    BRAN'S THE CHICKEN SISTERS - S02E05 SYNOPSIS:

The episode kicks off like a horror movie, with Amanda waking up.
Mae and Shawnee walk into the restaurant to find Clayton helping out. He asks Gus to get dinner with him, and Gus agrees—but only if they split the bill.

Duddy asks Frankie to prom and she says “sure.” What every boy wants to hear.

Clayton spends time getting to know Mae and Amanda. They’re blown away by the life he’s lived, but he admits he’s jealous of Amanda’s life because she got to spend it with her girl.

You’d think Frankie would be happy about her prom plans with Duddy, but she’s not. She can only think about her dad—how they went to prom together and that was it. Does she really want to end up like her mom?

Frank Jr. is pumped when someone tries his new chicken, and it’s a big hit! Word is bound to spread.

Gus shows up to dinner with Clayton all dressed up. The night is going great—until he stands up and basically professes his love for her in front of everyone.

In an effort to prove to her daughter that they don’t need a man, they catch a weasel together.

Clayton and Mae grow closer, and he asks if he can walk her down the aisle. She says yes.

Amanda, with her newfound confidence, walks into the shop. Sergio takes notice, but it quickly leads to an argument when he sees her flirting with the mechanic.

Mae asks Clayton why he never came to see her. His answer makes her believe he never came for her—only for Gus.

Frankie breaks up with Duddy after talking to Nancy about not feeling any butterflies. Nancy realizes she feels the same way about Clayton.

Clayton and Gus have another dinner together… which ends in a kisssss.

Sergio and Amanda talk again, and it turns out the texts never sent. Sparks are flyinggggg.

The episode ends with Gus having an MS episode, and Clayton catching her with no idea what’s going on.

The Groomsmen: First Look (Re-Release) Sep 09, 2025
    Show notes

Did you miss our review of Groomsmen First Look last October? Have no fear! We're releasing it again for you to enjoy! Alonso is with us today to help us break down all that happen in the 1st Groomsmen movie.

    ABOUT THE GROOMSMEN FIRST LOOK:

A pediatrician and an overseas doctor, meet at a wedding in Philadelphia, but the long distance, family, and their friends may hinder their budding romance.

AIR DATE & NETWORK FOR THE GROOMSMEN FIRST LOOK:

    October 17, 2024 | Hallmark+ / September 6, 2025 | Hallmark Channel

CAST & CREW OF THE GROOMSMEN FIRST LOOK:

    • B.J. Britt as Pete
    • Heather Hemmens as Chelsea
    • Jonathan Bennett as Danny
    • Tyler Hynes as Jackson

BRAN'S THE GROOMSMEN FIRST LOOK SYNOPSIS:

This woman walks into a store, clearly hiding from someone. The shop owner asks, “Who are you hiding from?” She peeks out and whispers, “Them! The groomsmen.” The store owner leans in: “What’s the story?” She sighs. “It all started with a wedding…”

Cut to a wedding. We see a guy in a suit on the phone. His name is Dr. Byer, and he bumps into a girl—not the girl from the beginning, but Hannah’s maid of honor. They bond over their shared belief that clip-on ties are cheating. She’s nervous about giving a speech. Turns out Dr. Byer is good friends with Danny, the best man. And surprise—she’s a doctor too. Dr. Chelsea.

There’s one other groomsman: Jackson. Jackson, Danny, and Pete have been best friends since summer camp. They love hanging out and, of course, choreographed dances.

Pete meets Chelsea, and they end up dancing and talking all night. But there’s a catch—she lives halfway around the world. At the end of the night, she drops the bomb: she’s leaving in the morning. She says, “We should stay in touch.” Pete replies, “We aren’t really going to stay in touch, are we?” He kisses her hand, and they part ways.

The next day, Pete’s hanging out with the guys. Danny says, “What about a long-distance relationship?” Jackson adds, “Actually, you might be perfect for it. You’re so organized and stuck in your ways.” Pete is torn, but they convince him: “You’ve got to stop her before she goes to the airport and tell her she’s all you’ve ever wanted.”

They rush to the hotel, but—womp womp—she’s already gone. Pete chases after her, only to realize she was never in the cab. She’s still at the hotel. He comes back, gulps some water, and shoots his shot… badly. But Chelsea admits she feels the same way, though she doesn’t know how the distance will work. Pete says, “I don’t know either, but I don’t want to not try.” She grabs his phone, takes a selfie with him, and gives him her number.

They start texting nonstop—cute doctor stuff, constant phone calls. Then one day, everything changes: video calls! Jackson takes this seriously, even sending his client Celeste to do Pete’s makeup before a call.

Pete dials in… no answer. Then a text: “Sorry, this isn’t working.” Blocked. WTF?! Jackson and Danny try to reassure him, but Pete feels crushed.

Later that night, Pete gets woken up by a call. It’s Chelsea. The storm knocked out her internet. That’s all she meant—he was never really blocked. Relief.

Things go back to normal. They just want to see each other in person. Easier said than done. Both are so busy.

One day, Pete’s at Danny’s nephew’s birthday party when Chelsea shows up. “I’m here for one night. Let’s go on a proper date.” Danny yells, “WE’RE GOING SHOPPING!”

On their date, things feel harder than expected. It’s awkward—not just because a guitar player won’t stop playing in their faces, but because online chemistry doesn’t always translate perfectly in person. So they bail and grab Philly cheesesteaks instead. On their walk, Chelsea admits, “I actually came here to break up with you. But after tonight…I want to keep trying.” Pete smiles: “I know how we can try next…” They kiss.

His boys warn him: “Whatever you do, don’t say ‘I love you’ first.” Naturally, Chelsea hops in a cab, Pete chases it down, and he blurts it out. She says it back. The crowd cheers.

Pete decides to propose. The boys warn him: “Don’t you think you should spend more time together in person first?” But Pete is set. He flies out to surprise her—only to drop the ring box on the luggage carousel. When it comes back around, it’s gone. He scrambles after it, gets detained by TSA, but luckily Chelsea knows the officers. They let him go with a warning. As Pete and Chelsea leave, TSA hands him the ring back. He proposes right then and there. Chelsea laughs: “This is so crazy! Yes!”

They go to meet her parents. It’s tense—her parents are intense, her mom furious they want to get married on the beach. Eventually, they compromise: a five-star resort by the beach. Pete’s mom shows up and disapproves of everything, but then declares she’s going to officiate the wedding. The groomsmen arrive, everyone has dinner, and Pete admits he’s considering moving overseas with Chelsea.

It’s too much. Chelsea storms off. “Go camping with your boys. We need a break.” Disaster strikes—a massive storm hits while the guys are lost in the woods, grounding flights and keeping wedding guests away.

Pete fights with the groomsmen, storms off, then they reconcile. The next day, things are better. He and Chelsea reconnect on the beach. She tells him she can’t wait to spend the rest of her life with him. They kiss and, right then and there, get married exactly the way they wanted—simple, real, and by the ocean.

So what does this have to do with the woman from the beginning? She leans in and says: “Pete and Chelsea’s story was just the beginning. Because after them… there was another wedding.”

The Little Giants Sep 08, 2025
    Show notes

Happy Monday. It's time to get Mighty! Ryan is here to help review the 1994 classic, The Little Giants.

    ABOUT THE LITTLE GIANTS:

Misfits form their own opposing team to an elite peewee football team, coached by the elite team coach's brother.

AIR DATE & NETWORK FOR THE LITTLE GIANTS:

    October 14, 1994 | Theaters

CAST & CREW OF THE LITTLE GIANTS:

    • Rick Moranis as Danny O’Shea
    • Ed O’Neill as Kevin O’Shea
    • Shawna Waldron as Becky “Icebox” O’Shea
    • Devon Sawa as Junior Floyd

    BRAN'S THE LITTLE GIANTS SYNOPSIS:

The movie kicks off with some wacky football animation. The X’s. The O’s. The Little Giants.

It’s 1964, and the O’Shea brothers are walking down the street. Big brother Kevin is annoyed that little brother Danny is tagging along to play football with his friends. So annoyed, in fact, that Kevin won’t even pick him to be on his team. To cheer him up, he tells Danny that one day their names will both be on the town water tower—The O’Shea Brothers.

Cut to the present, and the only name on that water tower is Kevin’s. Kevin owns a car dealership and, most importantly, coaches pee-wee football. Today is tryouts. One of those hopefuls is Icebox—or should I say, Becky… Danny’s daughter. That’s right, a girl!

We quickly learn just how much Kevin has accomplished: championships in high school and college, the Heisman Trophy—he’s done it all.

Time to find out who made the team. All the “dorks” you’d expect get cut… along with Icebox. Danny tells his brother he’s wrong about those kids, and he’s going to prove it.

Icebox rallies the others, announcing that they’ll start their own team—coached by her dad. Danny’s not so sure, until Kevin lays down the rule: one town, one team. He challenges Danny to a playoff in two weeks. Winner gets to be the town’s team.

The squad needs more players, so Icebox and the crew recruit outcasts around town. At the grocery store, they spot a kid showing off an impressive arm by tossing toilet paper rolls. Icebox is thrown off because—wait for it—she also thinks he’s cute. Turns out he’s a great quarterback.

Word gets to Kevin, who goes to check it out… and winds up arrested for being a peeping tom.

Then a new kid moves to town—Spike. He’s massive. His dad calls Danny, thinking he’s Kevin, to say Spike wants to play. But Spike doesn’t fit in, Spike doesn’t like them, and Spike is basically the bad guy. Eventually, Spike’s dad pulls him from the team once he realizes they’re with Danny, which sparks a huge fight among the players.

All seems lost… until John Madden shows up—with four NFL players! Just the boost they need.

It’s game day. Right before kickoff, Kevin goads Danny into a bet: if Danny wins, he gets Kevin’s Chevrolet dealership; if Kevin wins, he gets Danny’s gas station.

The Giants fall behind 21 points by halftime. Spirits are low—until Danny gives a heartfelt speech. The team rallies, and with a last-second fumblerooski, they win the game!

Danny suggests that instead of the Giants replacing the Cowboys, they merge into one team so both brothers can coach. He also rekindles his childhood romance with Patty. And instead of holding Kevin to the dealership bet, Danny asks for just one thing: change the water tower. From “Home of Kevin O’Shea” to “Home of the O’Shea Brothers.” Promise fulfilled.

The Holiday Exchange Sep 05, 2025
    Show notes

It's Festive Friday and Alonso is here to help review another Christmas movie we missed from 2024, The Holiday Exchange.

    ABOUT THE HOLIDAY EXCHANGE:

Wilde must cope with vacationing as a bachelor, so he decides to swap houses on an LGBTQ app with Oliver. In their efforts to escape their woes they end up meeting two locals who set romance on fire from LA to the charming town of Brilfax.

AIR DATE & NETWORK FOR THE HOLIDAY EXCHANGE:

    October 1, 2024 | VOD

CAST & CREW OF THE HOLIDAY EXCHANGE:

    • Taylor Frey as Wilde Williams
    • Rick Cosnett as Oliver Whitlock
    • Samer Salem as Julius Nasser
    • Daniel Garcia as Henry Whitlock

    BRAN'S THE HOLIDAY EXCHANGE SYNOPSIS:

Wilde wakes up in his Christmas pajamas, clearly sad because he’s newly single. Despite his ex trying to win him back, he just can’t do it. He decides he needs a change—so he hops on Mister B&B to find a place. He stumbles upon Oliver’s listing for a charming cottage in Brilfax. Conveniently, Oliver happens to be reading a very specific book: Single, Gay, and Holidating Yourself in LA. And where is Wilde from? LA. So, naturally, they decide to house-swap.

Wilde goes out to a bar and bonds with locals while trashing his ex. Meanwhile, Oliver attends a signing for the very book he’s been reading, just so he can tell the author, Julius, that it’s all wrong. Julius is initially taken aback by his critiques, but the sparks begin to fly.

Back in Brilfax, Wilde can’t resist calling his ex—and it does not go well. After a bath, he’s surprised when Oliver’s cousin, Henry, shows up out of nowhere during a snowstorm. They have some awkward banter, and Oliver agrees to let Henry stay. The next day, Wilde learns Henry is also an actor, just like his ex. So obviously, it won’t work. Spoiler alert: it does. They start hanging out, and after a fun night together, they walk in the snow and share a kiss.

Meanwhile, in LA, Oliver and Julius begin to spend more time together after Julius’ manager nudges him to reconnect. Things are going great.

But of course, each couple hits an “all is lost” moment. Wilde sees Henry talking to his manager—who also happens to be his ex—and it feels a little too familiar. And Julius finds out Oliver is a divorce attorney (which he failed to mention) and gets furious.

Luckily, it all works out. Wilde and Henry reconcile, and Wilde says he’s willing to move to LA to be with him. Oliver resigns from being a divorce attorney to pursue a nonprofit passion project, which makes Julius thrilled.

The couples reunite in LA for New Year’s Eve and have a great time—despite Wilde’s parents crashing the party.

It's Mae's bachelorette party, and Amanda commits to giving her notoriously over-planning sister a night full of carefree fun and making memories.

AIR DATE & NETWORK FOR THE CHICKEN SISTERS - S02E03:

    August 31, 2025 | Hallmark Channel

CAST & CREW OF THE CHICKEN SISTERS - S02E03:

    • Schuyler Fisk as Amanda
    • Genevieve Angelson as Mae
    • Lea Thompson as Nancy
    • Wendie Malick as Gus
    • Margo Martindale as Narrator
    • Rukiya Bernard as Sabrina
    • Caitlin Howden as Shawna

    BRAN'S THE CHICKEN SISTERS - S02E04 SYNOPSIS:

The episode kicks off with lots of strawberries. Making a good strawberry preserve takes time, ya see?

Gus is out and about dealing with the railroad arm, giving Nancy even more fuel for her fire to get that sucker fixed.

Amanda tells Sergio she has a new nickname for him—Biscuit—because he’s good at getting people out of jams. The sparks are flying.

Jag from Jag pays for all the wine for Mae’s bachelorette party, and she is overjoyed.

Nancy is still trying to get signatures for the railroad arm, but people aren’t nearly as eager to fix it as she thought they’d be.

Frank Jr. is trying to convince his boss to let him make good chicken to sell. The boss loves the chicken but not the idea.

Then the Fish arrives. She came to try the chicken after seeing it on Chicken Clash. She asks to give her compliments to the chef, and—plot twist—it turns out she’s Sergio’s ex-wife! In this show, her name is Nikita, and she asks Sergio to come be the head chef at a new restaurant she’s starting.

Jay visits Gus for help writing his vows. He wants to know more about what she was like as a kid.

Mae welcomes all her friends to her fancy bachelorette party. Her friends just want to drink the wine they like, but Mae’s not having it—this is her fancy party. When she overhears her friends and sisters joking about it, she kicks everyone out.

Sergio meets up with Nikita to hear more about her ideas.

Meanwhile, Amanda gathers the girls to throw Mae a “make-good” bachelorette party—doing something Mae will definitely hate: a scavenger hunt.

Frank Jr. does the math and realizes it’ll only cost two cents more to make good chicken. His boss is shocked it’s so little. Maybe there’s something there. What Frank’s keeping secret is that it’s the same recipe the Chicken Sisters use.

Amanda, Mae, and their friends have a great night out—until Amanda sees Sergio and Nikita kissing across the street. What she doesn’t hear is him saying no to both the restaurant and to Nikita.

Amanda and Mae share a heart-to-heart.

Gus is cleaning when Clayton comes in, and the two end up slow dancing.

Sergio deletes “Do Not Answer” from his phone just as Amanda texts him to say she’s not going to get in the way of him and Nikita.

Catch Of The Day Sep 02, 2025
    Show notes

Brian pops in to help review the newest Hallmark Channel movie, Catch of the Day.

    ABOUT CATCH OF THE DAY:

On the eve of becoming a NY executive chef, Sophie returns home to help her family's flailing restaurant and runs into Cam, an old crush who makes her question everything.

AIR DATE & NETWORK FOR CATCH OF THE DAY::

    August 30, 2025 | Hallmark Channel

CAST & CREW OF CATCH OF THE DAY::

    • Emilie Ullerup as Sophie
    • Michael Rady as Cam
    • Katie Lee Biegel as Abigail

BRAN'S CATCH OF THE DAY SYNOPSIS:

We’re in a fancy kitchen. “Yes, Chef!” The head chef is anxiously waiting for a big review to drop. Sophie chimes in and says it doesn’t matter what The Times thinks. Nice thought, but no one’s buying it.

Cut to fisherman Cam, who runs Easton’s Fish Market. He’s short-staffed but making it work.

The review comes in — four stars! Sophie is promoted to sous-chef.

She calls her sister to share the big news, but things aren’t great back home. Their family restaurant is bleeding money, and her sister is ready to sell. Sophie says she’ll think about it. Abigail suggests she come back, help out, and stick around for the 4th of July.

Sophie asks for time off. It doesn’t go well. She’s never asked before, but three weeks turns into just ten days.

When she arrives, she’s horrified to find… frozen fish! She heads to the docks for fresh fish, promptly falls into a net, and gets rescued by Cam. Surprise — they already know each other. They even kissed back in 7th grade. Banter sparks, and Sophie goes on her way.

Back at the restaurant, tensions rise between the sisters. Abigail’s been grinding to keep the place alive, and Sophie swoops in buying pricey fish like that’s the magic fix.

Meanwhile, Sophie keeps crossing paths with Cam. A local blogger spreads the word that a big-city chef is back in town, which makes Sophie’s boss furious.

The sisters start interviewing potential managers. One guy is a perfect fit — but before he can commit, Cam (unknowingly) offers him a better-paying job. Perfect Cam means no harm, but Sophie’s frustrated.

Later, she apologizes, and sparks fly. They finally kiss.

The next day, she cooks him dinner, sharing her dreams. Her boss wants her to cook for someone opening a restaurant in Vegas — a chance that could change her career. When Sophie leans in for another kiss, Cam pulls back. He doesn’t want to stand in the way of her dreams.

The Vegas dinner starts rocky, but Sophie nails it. She’s offered the head chef role.

Just as she’s ready to rush out of town, she can’t find Cam — until she learns he’s been secretly framing her old photos. What a guy. They say their goodbyes.

But when Sophie’s about to board the helicopter, she can’t go through with it. She quits. She chooses to stay, help run the now-thriving family restaurant, and, of course, be with Cam.

She tells her family, finds Cam, and they seal it with some very good kisses.

Using this talent, they transform into giant, baller versions of themselves known as the Monstars.

When the Looney Tunes see how big the Monstars are, they realize they need help. They need the greatest to ever do it: Michael Jordan.

They track MJ down at the golf course and literally pull him through a hole. Honestly, MJ handles it surprisingly well and he’s in.

Back on Earth, the real NBA players discover they’ve lost their ability to play, leading the league to suspend the season until they figure out what’s happening.

It’s time for the big game, and the Monstars dominate the first half. The Tune Squad is devastated.

During halftime, MJ’s assistant Stan (who showed up earlier in the movie) learns how the Monstars stole the players’ talent. This discourages the Tunes even more—until Bugs pulls out MJ’s “secret stuff,” which is just water, but convinces the squad to believe in themselves.

MJ raises the stakes with Swackhammer, as only he would: if the Tune Squad wins, the Monstars return the stolen talent. If the Monstars win, Jordan will spend the rest of his life as Moron Mountain’s newest attraction.

The Tunes fight back, but with only ten seconds left, they’re down to four players. Luckily, Bill Murray shows up to even things out.

In the final moments, Jordan talks to Bugs, uses cartoon physics, stretches his arm across the court, and slam-dunks for the win.

After Swackhammer berates the Monstars, Jordan helps them realize they only served him because they were small. Fed up, the Monstars stuff Swackhammer into a missile and launch him to the moon. They then relinquish the stolen talent and decide to stay with the Tunes.

Meanwhile, Jordan and Stan return to Earth, restoring the NBA stars’ abilities. Their encouragement convinces Jordan to return to the league—and the rest is history.

    BRAN'S THE HOLIDAY LIST SYNOPSIS:

Charlie and her husband, Wesley, visit his family after the death of Wesley's mom. His sister, Jackie, shows up with her girlfriend, Lola—but it’s unclear if their dad realizes Lola is more than just “a girl who’s a friend.” It quickly becomes clear that this family is a bit dysfunctional. Wesley and Jackie immediately start arguing, while Wesley keeps bringing up the fact that Charlie was flirting with the cab driver on the way over. That’s dad’s cue to slip out and head to the pub by himself.

The night spirals, and everyone ends up getting wasted. After Wesley falls asleep, Charlie stumbles into the kitchen, finds Wesley’s mom’s diary in a box, and writes a list of “things the family needs to do” inside it.

The next morning, Jackie discovers the diary and assumes the list was written by their mom—a set of wishes for the family. The list itself is simple: spend more time together and reconnect as a family.

As the visit continues, Charlie and Wesley fight but eventually commit to really diving into their marriage and making it work. Jackie’s girlfriend proposes and they decide to get married, and the family comes together to spread their mom’s ashes.
