DawgmanRadio: Fall Tackles Preview Jul 28, 2019
    Show notes

The guys from Dawgman.com -- Kim Grinolds and Scott Eklund -- take a look at the offensive tackles as they prepare for the start of Washington's fall camp on Friday.

The return of All-American candidate Trey Adams is a huge boost to the Dawgs as they look for stability along the offensive line and now that Jared Hilbers has nearly an entire season as a starter under his belt, the Huskies have two talented and experienced players to throw out on the edges.

That being said, Henry Bainivalu, a third-year sophomore and Henry Roberts, a fifth-year senior, will have something to say about the depth behind both of those players and youngsters like Matteo Mele will also be in the mix, so the Huskies have some bodies to work with and now Huff needs to find out who plays well with whom and who fits into which position the best.

All of those players have versatility and talent and it gives Huff a ton of flexibility to find his "Best Five". Pretty much any coach in America wants that, so the third-year offensive line coach has put himself in an enviable position, now his group needs to find that success.

    DawgmanRadio: Fall Guards/Centers Preview Jul 28, 2019
    Show notes

The guys from Dawgman.com -- Kim Grinolds and Scott Eklund -- take a look at the interior linemen along Washington's offensive line as they prepare for the start of fall camp on Friday.

Last year's starters at left and right guard as well as center -- Luke Wattenberg, Jaxson Kirkland and Nick Harris -- all return and there are some very intriguing youngsters that are in line to compete for reps as well. With the way that Scott Huff has recruited the past couple of seasons, especially with his hauls in 2018 (M.J. Ale and Victor Curne) and 2019 (Corey Luciano, Nate Kalepo and Troy Fautanu), the Huskies are poised to have lots of success, no only this season, but in the future as well.

All of those players have versatility and talent and it gives Huff a ton of flexibility to find his "Best Five". Pretty much any coach in America wants that, so the third-year offensive line coach has put himself in an enviable position, now his group needs to find that success.

The Husky interior offensive line has three All-Pac 12 candidates listed as the starters and each should make their presence felt this fall.

DawgmanRadio: Nick Harris Says UW Offensive Line is Motivated Jul 27, 2019
    Show notes

If Washington doesn't have the top offensive line in the conference, that's news to Nick Harris. In a wide-ranging interview at Pac-12 Media Day, the senior center told Dawgman.com's Kim Grinolds that they definitely pay attention to the fact that pundits believe the best OL in the conference resides in Eugene, and those opinions have definitely added fuel to a fire already burning within the Huskies to prove everyone wrong.

Harris also talked about who put the biggest dent in UW's food budget last year, being back in his home area of Los Angeles, Trey Adams, Jaxson Kirkland, the redshirt freshmen defensive linemen, adidas, the quarterback competition, and more.

DawgmanRadio: Fall Tight Ends Preview Jul 26, 2019
    Show notes

The guys from Dawgman.com - Kim Grinolds and Chris Fetters - break down the Washington tight ends room ahead of fall camp, which starts a week from Friday.

The room took some attrition hits, as Drew Sample, Mike Neal and DeShon Williams graduated, and Jusstis Warren left the program. But UW Tight Ends Coach Jordan Paopao has been hot on the trail, picking up a couple of walk-ons in Carson Smith and Lake Washington's Zeke Pelluer, son of former Washington quarterback Steve Pelluer.

How will those new boys fit in with a room with three upperclassmen (Hunter Bryant, Jacob Kizer, and Cade Otton), as well as a redshirt freshman in Devin Culp and a redshirt frosh walk-on in Jack Westover? Culp gained a whopping 35 pounds during the offseason, coming into the spring as a completely different body type. And Westover showed that he might surprise some people this fall as a guy that can create some mismatches down the field.

But Bryant, Kizer and Otton are the 'Big Three', and they will be counted on for the lion's share of the production this fall.

DawgmanRadio: Talking With Myles Bryant at Pac-12 Media Day Jul 26, 2019
    Show notes

Even though Washington senior defensive back Myles Bryant is a southern California native, he has not spent much time by Hollywood. But he was right there Wednesday during Pac-12 Media Day, and Dawgman.com's Kim Grinolds spoke to Bryant about being back home, his love of Los Angeles, playing in the Rose Bowl, being named to the first preseason All-Conference team, what he still has to prove as a player, his favorite play as a Husky, best Chris Petersen story, and a ton more.

DawgmanRadio: Catching Up With Blair Angulo Jul 25, 2019
    Show notes

Dawgman.com's Kim Grinolds spoke Wednesday with 247Sports' Recruiting Analyst Blair Angulo at Pac-12 Media Day in Los Angeles, and there was plenty of catching up to do.

They went down memory lane, talking about the recruitment of a lot of the players featured at Pac-12 Media Day, including Washington's Myles Bryant and Nick Harris.

They also talked about a number of recruits the Huskies landed in Angulo's territory, including Hawaii, Utah and Arizona. That list included Puka Nacua, Miki Ah You, Faatui Tuitele, Sama Paama, and Troy Fautanu.

Grinolds also asked Angulo about 2020 commit Roger Rosengarten and also some top targets like Jacobe Covington and Rome Ondunze. And finally, they spoke about some of Washington's coaches and how they are perceived on the recruiting trail, as well as the recruiting calendar and what's next for the 2020 prospects as they move forward toward the early signing period in mid-December.

DawgmanRadio: Fall Receivers Preview Jul 25, 2019
    Show notes

The guys from Dawgman.com - Chris Fetters and Intern Emeritus Luke Mounger - go player-by-player in breaking down Washington's receivers room and what they expect to see from each player starting in early August.

This is a big camp for a lot of players, especially the underclassmen. Guys like Terrell Bynum, Marquis Spiker, Austin Osborne and Trey Lowe had solid springs. But with four seniors leading the way, can any of the young bucks break through?

And what about the veterans like Aaron Fuller, Quinten Pounds, Andre Baccellia and Chico McClatcher? All of them have points to prove in different ways.

Could this be the breakout year for junior big man Ty Jones? And is this the last chance saloon for Jordan Chin?

And finally, is there just too many players in front of Puka Nacua? Or can the true freshman rise above and show his class the moment he steps on the field for fall camp?

Fetters and Mounger break it all down in this 25-minute podcast.

DawgmanRadio: Latest Commits And A Texas Invasion By The Dawgs Jul 24, 2019
    Show notes

The guys from Dawgman.com got the chance to sit down and dive into the latest two commitments for the University of Washington -- tailback Sam Adams and linebacker Cooper McDonald -- and look at how each impacts the 2019 recruiting class as well as where they fit into the roster.

The commitment of McDonald wasn't a surprise as he'd been leaning the Huskies way, but what needs to be figured out is how he fits into the program once he arrives next summer. When you watch his film, McDonald plays almost exclusively on the edge for his team, but the Huskies want him to play inside.

Adams is a local four-star recruit who fills a need at tailback and he's a bigger back with the frame to carry 215 or 220 pounds by the time he sees the field.

Scott and Chris opine on why the Huskies decided to move toward bigger backs and whether or not they'll be able to find more in the coming years.

They also focus on the added emphasis in Texas as the Husky coaches prioritize the Lonestar State which is rich in football talent, but also a hotbed for schools from the Big 12, the Big 10 and the SEC.

Last, but certainly not least, Scott gives his own ideas on which players could wind up Huskies before the start of the season on August 31st.

DawgmanRadio: Fall Running Back Preview Jul 23, 2019
    Show notes

The guys from Dawgman.com - Kim Grinolds and Chris Fetters - run down the list of running backs that Washington has to choose from this fall, and it's an appetizing list. It starts with three juniors - Salvon Ahmed, Sean McGrew, and Kamari Pleasant - and goes from there.

Can those three juniors replicate what Myles Gaskin did for the Huskies these past four seasons? Can they offer up 1200-plus yards and lots of touchdowns? That's what they'll be tasked to do.

Then add in redshirt freshman Richard Newton and senior walk-on Malik Braxton, and you have five players that UW RB Coach Keith Bhonapha can call on to get the job done. Grinolds and Fetters talk about all of them and their chances of being successful in 2019, as well as true freshman Cameron Davis and the potential he brings starting in 2020.

DawgmanRadio: Fall Quarterback Preview Jul 22, 2019
    Show notes

The guys from Dawgman.com - Kim Grinolds and Scott Eklund - throw in their two cents, and then some, as they break down the Washington quarterback battle heading into fall camp, who they expect to eventually win the starting QB job, and what to make of the other competitors within the competition. Now that Colson Yankoff is no longer a Husky, there's only four quarterbacks left in the UW QB room: Jacob Eason, Jake Haener, Jacob Sirmon, and Dylan Morris. Who wins the job? And based on who wins, who is likely to be the most popular player on campus (the backup)? Will Washington suffer even more quarterback attrition based on the results of fall camp?

Lots of questions to be asked of the Washington quarterbacks heading into fall camp, and Grinolds and Eklund try and answer them here.
