Danny P on Cars - Dominic Dobson - Racer, Entrepreneur and "The Rookie" Mar 12, 2023

Show notes

I feel honored that Dominic agreed to join me on the podcast. Dominic is somewhat of a local racing legend in these parts and a nice guy to boot.
I sat down with him to talk through his racing career, famous drivers he raced with and we tactics that enabled him to win his class at Pikes Peak in his rookie year. That wasn't the only rookie accolade he's achieved, the Indy 500 no less!
Dominic's resume (CV to us Brits) includes Le Mans, the Indy 500 (multiple times) and driving Michael Schumacher's winning Ferrari on multiple occasions. We talk about racing people are all about the racing, engineers helping him with his car set up and even Roger Penske helping him to go racing.
Whilst he's retired from full time racing to focus on running his local business (Seattle Porsche Service and Repair - Dobson Stuttgart), he still has plans for some more motorsport in the near future!
So sit back, make yourself comfortable and enjoy this episode.
My thanks go out to Dominic for his generous time!

He's been there since I got my driver's license. One of the founding members of my tribe! Nick Horne or Horney to his friends.
I catch up with Nick on an international call from the US to the UK for a discussion on where it all started. We talk first cars, Sim Racing and buying cars while drunk.
Nick has quite possibly the most eclectic collection of cars I know, including an auction win of a 1980s Lotus designed electric vehicle.
So, sit back, relax, and join us for a journey into UK car culture with Horney.
