Ahh Christmas. The holiday that tries to be one thing but ultimately is about another. Parents seem to fall into two camps; those who listened attentively to their spouse and kids throughout the year and bought all presents by November 1st and those of us who now blame lack of presents on "supply chain issues." There are those that give physical gifts and and those that give experiences. In Mike's case he was able to give his wife heather both! When he gave her a physical gift of a dehumidifier, he also gave her the experience gift of sheer disappointment. Mike can really sit and spin on this one. Listen as Mike and Heather get into it. But more importantly, it's time alone, together. Y'know, to strategize how to keep those little buggers in place. Some of the most important advances in history have come from a date night. Enrique Iglesias was crushing the charts, Smashmouth was a thing, and flying cars is what we had to look forward to in 2021. Maybe the biggest thing that's changed has been parenting styles. Have we gone from "suck" to "blow" in one generation? Too many participation trophies? Too few boundaries? Have we overcorrected? No, no. It's the KIDS who are wrong!
