During WWI two notorious laws would be passed. The Espionage and Sedition Acts would drastically limit the freedom of speech and prohibit Americans from criticizing the war, the draft, and even the government itself. Amazingly, when challenged, the Supreme Court defended these as not contradictory of the 1st Amendment! Today we discuss Schenk v. US and some of the absurd aftermath of these laws.

Jess and Joe discuss their thoughts on school shootings, reason’s why some proposed solutions will not work, and some suggestions of our own. We’re not experts and we don’t claim to have the solution. But we hope there is some good food for thought here.
