    Crossing the Streams with Brent and Aaron

    Most of us older than 30 remember mix tapes and the time we spent meticulously curating the perfect collection of songs to introduce friends to new music. The mediums we grew up on have moved to streaming services and playlists, but the sentiment still rings true. Every Monday, Aaron and Brent trade songs to find out what has changed and what will never change. Music is ever-evolving, but the fingerprints of the past are always present.     This week, Aaron and Brent look at the music of a British rock band, originally formed in Scotland in 2001 and an Australian band who have sold over 70 million albums worldwide since forming in 1977.

    Formed after guitarist Murray MacLeod and bassist Jordan Smith met in the headmaster’s office at Robert Gordon's College in Aberdeen when they were 13 years old, Aaron spotlights the band The XCERTS.

    Featuring three brothers from New South Wales and a lead singer who exuded charisma and sex appeal, Brent highlights three songs from INXS.

    Hank Williams Jr. & Sturgill Simpson Jan 11, 2021

    Aaron and Brent look at the music of an outspoken Nashville outsider and a singer who, despite nine number one albums over his 50 year career, was just inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame in 2020.

    After following in his father’s footsteps by making his own Opry debut at age 11 and continuing on with a career of over 50 albums, Brent spotlights three songs from Hank Williams Jr.
