Then (21:30) it’s on to covering the latest in the NIL / House settlement, and why it hasn’t gotten here yet. There’s some unfortunate but predictable infighting going on in the settlement process, and a real chance that the court refuses to accept the settlement even if those items are solved. I talk a bit about those items and how the courts might evaluate the situation as a whole.

Indiana failed to put up a fight at home against Ohio State, losing by a huge margin and exhibiting very little positive aspects over the 60 minutes. Few people gave IU a shot going into the game, so the result isn't surprising. But the lack of effort and the continued inability of the offense to consistently do anything worthwhile is surprising, and we talk about that at length. At 2-5 on the season, the 2021 campaign is rapidly slipping into unrecoverable territory. Why have things spiraled so far out of control since December of last year? The Big Ten released its 2020 football schedule, so we did what we always do and tried to anticipate Indiana's final record. Mike Miller of Crimson Quarry joins us on a rare live video chat to talk about the positives and negatives of the IU schedule, and we each give our prediction on how the season will play out.

It's crossover week! Assembly Call and CrimsonCast have traded places, and Andy Bottoms and Coach Brian Tonsoni take over hosting duties this week. Here's what's up in this all-football episode of CrimsonCast:
We opened the episode by discussing how we became fans of the IU football program, and in both cases the seeds were planted during the Mallory era. We discussed a few favorite games, moments, and players that shaped our fondness for the program before moving into a discussion on the upcoming season.
To start, we recapped changes to the coaching staff and how a couple of them may be exaggerated by the delay in the start of the season. We also touched on how we feel Tom Allen has evolved as a coach, the health of Michael Penix, and our excitement over the depth of this year's team. We then took a quick run through the schedule and allowed our optimism to suggest the team could be bowl eligible before the schedule really ratchets up.

We then finish up with a discussion of the fine dining scene in Bloomington and why it has struggled to have much depth over the years. Is it simply a matter of population and the slow summers? What are the other factors?
