Julie Jensen Jan 29, 2023

Show notes

In December 1998, Julie Jensen was murdered in Pleasant Prairie, Wisconsin. After an investigation by police, Julie's husband, Mark Jensen, was identified as the prime suspect. He was charged with murdering Julie by poisoning her with antifreeze and then smothering her. He was convicted of the murder in 2008.

Join Mike and Morf as they discuss Mark Jensen and the death of Julie Jensen. One of the biggest indicators of guilt, according to jurors, was something Julie had written and given to a neighbor before her death. It said that if anything happened to her, look at her husband, Mark. Mark's conviction was eventually overturned because it was ruled that he had the right to confront his accuser about this evidence. As this episode releases, Mark is back on trial for Julie's murder. But many years have passed, and her letter has been ruled inadmissible. Will this jury see things the same way as the jury did in 2008?

Steven Koecher Jan 22, 2023

It turned out that Steven worked for the service in St. George, Utah, 120 miles away.

Join Mike and Morf as they discuss the mysterious disappearance of Steven Koecher. This case has been talked about and debated online for years. The first mystery is why Steven was in Nevada in the first place, and it was revealed that he had made previous trips to the same area. Eyewitnesses and video surveillance add some information to the case but leave more questions unanswered than answered. What was Steven Koecher doing near Las Vegas, and what happened to him?

Introducing Suspect: Vanished in the Snow Jan 12, 2023

Show notes

For more than three and a half decades, the disappearance of 12-year-old Jonelle Matthews was a mystery – a riddle neither authorities nor her family members could solve. The residents of her cloistered Colorado hometown had scoured every inch of prairie. Jonelle's face had been on milk cartons nationwide. Even the President of the United States had appealed to the public for help. Still, every lead had fizzled. Every person of interest had turned out to be a dead end. Then, in 2019, Jonelle's remains were unearthed near the foothills of the Rocky Mountains.

With the discovery came a troubling new question: Had the truth been hiding in plain sight the entire time? Was the man who couldn't stop obsessing over Jonelle's disappearance also the person who took her? From Campside Media and Wondery comes season two of SUSPECT. Former CNN reporter Ashley Fantz and executive producers Matthew Shaer and Eric Benson (Suspect, Over My Dead Body) dig into one of the most mind-bending cold cases in modern history, in an attempt to separate fact and fiction, compulsion from guilt, and true-crime fandom from a motive for murder.

The Murder of Michael Griffey Jan 08, 2023

Show notes

Michael Griffey was murdered at the end of December 2005. He was found in the garage on January 2nd after a New Year's Eve celebration had occurred at the house. Michael and his wife Diane were married for 20 years and had three children, but they were essentially living separate lives. In fact, they were each seeing other people while still living under the same roof.

Join Mike and Morf as they discuss the mysterious murder of Michael Griffey. Suspicion quickly fell on multiple members of the Griffey family. It seems as though more than one family member may have had a motive to want to see Michael dead. Anger, jealousy, and financial issues were all possibilities. There have been arrests but no trials, and one child has even confessed on video. So many years later, the case remains extremely murky.

Rhonda Hinson Dec 18, 2022

Show notes

On December 22nd, 1981, 19-year-old Rhonda Annette Hinson headed to an office Christmas party. In the early morning of the 23rd, she was found about a half mile from her home lying outside her car on the should of the road. The police determined that Rhonda had been shot by a high-powered rifle that went through her trunk, back seat, and into the driver's seat.

Join Mike and Morf as they discuss the baffling death of Rhonda Hinson. Witnesses came forward the descriptions of cars seen near Rhonda's car. Police had to figure out if these were people involved in Rhonda's death or people who stopped to see what was happening. What clouded the waters even more was that it was revealed that Rhonda was not supposed to come home that night, and only a few people knew of her change in plans. The police looked closely at Rhonda's boyfriend, Greg, and a friend named Mark, whose girlfriend said she saw Rhonda's sweater in his car before Rhonda was killed. That sweater was later found in Rhonda's car. 41 years later, two big questions remain. What exactly happened in the death of Rhonda Hinson, and who was involved?
