My next guest will inspire and motivate you - Jason Schechterle

On the night of March 26, 2001, a taxi cab, traveling at over 100mph crashed into the rear of Jason’s patrol car.

Upon impact, Jason’s car burst into flames, trapping him inside.

Through a series of miraculous and fateful circumstances, Jason survived the crash and ensuing physical and emotional catastrophe. He suffered severe burns to over 40% of his body which drastically altered his appearance. He has undergone more than 50 surgeries just to have the ability to accomplish simple daily tasks we often take for granted.

Jason’s journey chronicles his fight for life, his triumph over tragedy and the inspiration that enables him to continue to overcome unimaginable adversity. His personal narrative exemplifies that the power of the human spirit can never be underestimated or extinguished.

His story is one of life, rebirth, and transformation. Jason represents the human experience at its very best – an ascent from despair to describing himself as the luckiest person alive!

It took me a long time to realize that all of my challenges and problems that I faced I contributed in some way to them. I encourage you to reflect on your own life and problems you are facing.

I started doing these two things:

1) Accept the place you are at in life - Acceptance is key. You might not like it but this is the reality. It doesn't matter how you got where you are at - You are here! Now What?

2) Take responsibility for your part in your problems - OWN YOUR PART. Don't be one of the many who blame others, circumstances or GOD for you problems.

If you follow this two steps, albeit hard as they are, you will see significant improvement in your life.

Any success you have in your life is going to come incrementally. Success doesn't happen overnight like some say. You have to work hard to receive results and often those results come with time - hence, incrementally.

I frequently hear people say, I want to go back to the time when....(fill in the blank). You are never going back to that time. You have to adapt to the one constant - Change. You can either go with it or go kicking and screaming because it's moving forward.

Sure, no one likes change but this is where your growth and opportunities are. A new boat doesn't get tested sitting in the harbor, it has to go out to sea to see if it can handle it. The same is true with you.

The past is the past - It's NEVER coming back. We all make mistakes and wish we could have done things differently, but you are NOT the mistakes you have made.

You chart your own path. The future is where it's at.

We all want instant gratification. That is just the world we live in. However, there are no shortcuts to your health and happiness. You have to put in the work. There are no "magic pills" for this. Remember if it sounds too good to be true it probably is.

Hard work, dedication, and focus will get you to the place you want to be. Don't fall for the shortcuts because there aren't any.

Go out and conquer your day and please be safe.

This is going to be your year. Don't be like most people who make new year resolutions and fail to follow through. Make a plan to accomplish whatever you want to and get after it. No one controls your fate except you. Always remember that. All the actions in your life have brought you to this point.

If you are unhappy - You can change it. No one else

If you need treatment - Again, its' up to you. No one is going to make that decision for you.

EVERYTHING STARTS AND ENDS WITH YOU.

Remember to develop the proper mindset for your success. This is YOUR year. Make all your dreams happen.
