Ep. 174 Justin Sullivan (New Model Army) May 17, 2021

Show notes

Our guest this episode is Justin Sullivan, the frontman, founder and leader of New Model Army for some 4 decades now. Justin's story is one a life well-lived and I had a wonderul and inspired time speaking with him. He'll be releasing his 2nd solo album this month (May 2021), his first in nearly 20 years. New Model Army will surely be releasing more material in 2022 and will commence touring Europe, as well. I hope you enjoy this conversation as much as I did!

Ep. 173 Pete Anderson (Dwight Yoakam/Platinum Record Producer) May 13, 2021

Show notes

This episode features my conversation with the legend, Pete Anderson. Pete has a long and storied career which we cover a lot of here. He is most well-known for being Dwight Yoakam's guitarist and producer for 2 decades of tours and albums. He continues to write, play, perform, and produce bands and is currently working on a book with an accompanying video called "How To Produce A Record" which I'm very excited to check out. Also, go get a look at his Reverend signature guitars! They're stellar, like Pete himself. This episode was a lot of fun for me and I hope you enjoy it. Thanks for listening!

Ep. 170 Matt Muckle (Paul Gilber/John Waite) May 03, 2021

Show notes

We are pleased to have Matt Muckle as our guest this episode, our most recent for Drummer Awareness Month. Matt thoroughly impressed me when he delivered his drums for our video performance of When Will I Be Loved (feat. Charlie Starr, Keith Nelson and Jeff Rouse). I immediately started following him on socials and watching with much delight as I revealed more and more depth to his playing, nailing every feel and groove with conviction and convincingly. We dive right into how he's able to do that in this conversation and barely come up for air. This one flew by! I hope you enjoy this as much as I did. Show notes

Very excited to have Frank Ferrer as our guest for this episode. In addition to being a great drummer Frank is one of the coolest guys you'll meet in rock 'n roll. Genuine, open, and friendly: I like him right away when I met him in 2011. Frank has had an interesting musical road leading up to his joining G'nR and we cover a lot of ground in this conversation. I hope you enjoy it as much as I did! Please check out Frank's latest release from PSSR at THIS LINK! You won't regret it!

Ilan also fronts his own band, The New Regime, singing and playing guitar and also writes and performs all the music on the recordings. His 2020 album, Heart Mind Body & Soul, is a masterpiece of rock music and an incredible display of his talents on all levels, writing/arranging/performing. Be sure to check that album and all his music out where ever you do that. Worth noting: Ilan is the youngest living member of the Rock 'n Roll Hall of Fame. Crazy. Our 2nd guest for Drummer Awareness Month 2021 is our close friend and former bandmate in Duff McKagan's Loaded, Geoff Reading. Geoff is the kind of guy you want in your tour bus cuz he's always down to get into some fun and he isn't restricted to a bunch of shallow superficial conversation. As a fella you just can't do much better than Geoff and we're excited to be getting him in a video soon, as well. Go check out Geoff's podcast, Seattle Today, which is recorded at Seattle's historic Moore Theater.
