Stay ConnectedThe Core 4 Podcast is a podcast of, for, and by Yankees fans. We distinguish ourselves by incorporating friendly insider, player, fan, and analytical views to the game of baseball and the prominent events surrounding the New York Yankees. Our namesake resembles that of the Yankees’ “Core 4” that came up in the late 1990’s and were our childhood heroes. We will bring the fans interaction, guests, news, and plenty of fun banter as we enjoy the Yankees season.

We are joined by MLB.com writer, Bryan Hoch, who has been covering the New York Yankees since 2007. We get his thoughts on the Yankees pitching staff, some defensive questions, roster configuration, and the general attitudes around the clubhouse as we approach Opening Day. We dive into MLB rule changes, Jacoby Ellsbury (who?), and your questions.
The guys discuss the details and implications of Luis Severino’s setback, the biggest surprises of Spring Training thus far, their All-MLB Overrated and Underrated Teams, do their best Holmes and Watson impressions to uncover the mystery of where Max has been this week, and much more.
The Yankees are backing off their traditional policy of avoiding extensions for their homegrown players, locking up Luis Severino and Aaron Hicks to longterm deals. Our team reacts to these developments, and responds to DMs and voicemails with questions about Yankees camp in Tampa, our MVP picks around the league and plenty more.
FINALLY! Manny Machado has signed for the 2019 season. On February 19th, Machado signed a 10-year contract worth $300 million with the San Diego Padres. The guys break down what the signing means for Machado, the Yankees, and the league.
The Core 4 Podcast brings you its inaugural episode in which we introduce ourselves and our mission. It’s simple: a podcast of, for, and by fans with unique twists. We dive into predictions for 2019, and reflect on how both we and the Yankees got to where we are right now, with Spring Training looming.
