eSport Special Report - Convert to Raid Presents Jun 03, 2016

Show notes

This is a special report from CtR HQ all about Blizzard esports!

Jules Scott joins Pat Krane for a look at Blizzard esports. Inside, they preview upcoming Heroes of the Storm and Hearthstone tournaments, and talk about some of the interesting matchups and other tidbits along the way.

Also, Jules and Pat review the first Overwatch tournament held this last weekend and how Cloud 9 has set them head and shoulders apart from their competition.

There are some reports out there about how professional players are leaving HotS for other, more established games. Jules gives you the scoop on the different aspects of why that might be happening.

It's a great mini-sode to kick off more varied content on this channel. Let us know what you think - we are listening. Email converttoraid@gmail.com or find us on Twitter: http://twitter.com/ConverttoRaid

This week, Sharku and Gizmo join the crew as we make a BIG announcement and talk about Warcraft and other Blizzard games!

The Warcraft movie has been released internationally, but still 10 days away from it's launch in the U.S. How do box office numbers, internet reviews and the crew's opinions stack up to help viewers expectations? What will be the real teller of whether or not this movie is a success?

Overwatch is the Blizzard's fastest selling console game (in the UK), which shouldn't be any surprise. The guys will go behind the numbers a bit and talk about OW's first competitive tournament along the way. What lies in store for Blizzard's newest game?

Plus, Heroes of the Storm turns 1, Hearthstone tournaments go legit, your questions and more in this first installment of The Battlenet News!

#219 - Convert to Raid: Over What? May 25, 2016

Show notes

For videos, audios, and all things CtR, join us online at http://converttoraid.com

John Horstmann and Sharku join the crew for this week's show (mainly on Overwatch).

Overwatch went live this week, so the guys jump straight into the Battlenet News for stories surrounding the launch. The joys, the salt, and the community interest in this fantastic game have been incredible over the last few days, so the crew dives in to discuss many different aspects of Overwatch.

Since the last CtR, World of Warcraft's next expansion has gone into beta development, allowing even more people to see what's in store for Legion. While this episode doesn't go into any depth on the gameplay, the guys are planning future shows as we head toward the August 30th launch.

One item did stick out this last week, as Ion "Watcher" Hazzikostas took to the forums in another Developer Watercooler discussion on PvP gear in Legion. Instead of resilience or PvP Power, the devs are making PvE gear and PvP gear THE SAME. How will this affect those who have chosen one aspect over the other, or does it even matter? Will this finally help WoW PvP stand on even footing with raiding?

Plus the Warcraft movie hype is real, Chromie lands in the Nexus, and Diablo 3 turns 4 and more!
