    Conversations with Peter Boghossian

We stand transparent about our motivations: we are champions of liberal values and Enlightenment Rationalism. Reason & liberty are paramount-whether threatened by tyranny in places like China or elsewhere-because they are essential to human dignity and prosperity. The Enlightenment, with it’s emphasis on error-correction, is the philosophical project that has cultivated the wealth & freedom of the modern world. The West has been a custodian of this tradition of criticism, producing societies full rapid, stable, and genuine progress. The clearer people become on this connection, the more they’ll recognize that these principles are what enable our civilization to be freer, safer, and more prosperous. This is the set of ideas we are committed to spreading.~ Reid Nicewonder

Reason vs. Altruism: The Battle for Moral Truth | Craig Biddle Apr 18, 2026
    Show notes

Craig Biddle makes the case that Objectivism is not simply Ayn Rand's philosophy but the only philosophically defensible foundation for individual rights, reason, and a free society. Peter Boghossian pushes back, probing the epistemological claims, the treatment of altruism, and whether a closed system can survive genuine philosophical scrutiny.

What emerges is a collision between a defender of a complete moral framework and a skeptic who refuses to let any idea off the hook. If you think philosophy is abstract, this conversation will change your mind.

Hard Science vs Hollywood: What Project Hail Mary Gets Right | Reid Nicewonder & Brett Hall Apr 18, 2026
    Show notes

Project Hail Mary is rare: A science fiction film that refuses to talk down to its audience, built on hard physics, curiosity, and two characters solving problems through reason rather than force. Peter Boghossian, Reid Nicewonder, and Brett Hall dig into what the film gets right about how knowledge is actually created, why scientific progress may require open societies, and what it would mean to encounter a civilization that evolved entirely different physics. The film's quiet optimism turns out to be its most radical feature. More From Brett Hall Twitter: @ToKTeacher YT: @bretthall9080 Follow Peter Boghossian for more.

A Moral Duty to Eat Animals? | Nick Zangwill Apr 12, 2026
    Show notes

Is eating animals a moral duty? Philosopher Nick Zangwill says yes, and the argument is more rigorous than you'd expect: Farm animals are created for a purpose, and failing to eat them is a failure to respect that purpose.

    Show notes

Hunter Ash left the left not out of disillusionment but logic. Is the World Sleepwalking Into a Global End Game? | Michael Every Mar 26, 2026
    Show notes

Global macro strategist Michael Every of Rabobank joins Peter Boghossian to dissect how conflict in the Middle East is fracturing global energy markets, exposing the fatal flaw in mainstream economic models: They assume everything returns to normal.

From the Strait of Hormuz and dollar dynamics to "reverse perestroika" and the Taiwan question, Every builds a geopolitical and financial framework most analysts refuse to confront. This is the kind of conversation that makes the comfortable assumption of stability look like willful blindness. Click here for more Peter Boghossian.
