Conservative Media and Politicians Are Not Serious About Their Stated Beliefs | 7/28/23 Jul 28, 2023

Anyone can rail against the Left as a talk show host or on the campaign trail. But why is it that we have failed to govern in accordance with that rhetoric even in red states? Look no farther than the conservative media’s treatment of DeSantis and Rep. Byron Donalds dumping on him for actually revamping the African-American studies curriculum in Florida. Today, I provide the Rosetta stone for why red states aren’t red states. It boils down to the fact that even conservatives are terrified of corporate politics and identity politics. DeSantis has slain both of them and is the first to do so in our lifetime. Rather than celebrating that success, they pile on against him. This is why we are where we are. At the end, I discuss the latest economic news and how we have a permanent, fake economy boxing us out of the American dream. Again, all because Republicans lied to us for years and weren’t serious about dealing with the debt.

Today, we take a long look at how we got to a point where conservatives are so subversive to their own stated goals. I’m joined by Steve Deace, who contends that fundamentally there is nothing new about the Trump idolatry. Because conservative media was always an industry designed to give the Right what they are looking for rather than acting as leaders, the movement was never focused on outcomes. He believes we do not have a long-term future, and that is why our colleagues don’t care to even think about outcomes. They have acculturated our people into elevating symbolism over substance and reactionary politics over outcomes. It’s just that now they have a more charismatic figure to rally behind and the advent of social media, where they can immediately monetize their reactionary politics. Where does that leave us?

What Actually Needs to Be Done with the FBI | 7/25/23 Jul 25, 2023

Every conservative complains about the weaponization of the FBI, but seven months into GOP control of the House, what has come of all of these hearings? We’re joined today by FBI whistleblower Steve Friend, a 12-year FBI veteran who quit his job to warn about the political targeting. Friend fears that GOP House members are more concerned about sound bites and fundraising than about actually dealing with the problem. He perfectly identified the problem with the FBI quota system, career bureaucrats, and the culture at the agency. Friend also has a plan to defund the specific policies and offices that are most harmful. He believes that FBI agents need to be disarmed and just serve as an investigatory backstop to local law enforcement. He is also calling on red states to create sanctuaries for civil liberties by refusing to work on task forces with local FBI offices that violate civil rights.

How to Create a Free Market When None Exists | 7/24/23 Jul 24, 2023

We are stuck with the following quandary: We believe in free markets, but we don’t have one. So if we merely hold back from using government power when we assume office, we will preserve the current anti-market monopolies. On the other hand, we can’t have unbridled populism, which invariably lands in the same despotic place. Today, I offer a vision on how to rebalance the economy toward small businesses over the large Big Tech monopolies. I show how the economy was remade by COVID fascism and how we need a moratorium on taxation for small businesses to reorient our economy. At the end, I discuss the terror attack in Fargo nobody is reporting on and how there is a growing Islamic transformation even of small-town USA. Finally, we discuss the Israeli judicial reform fight and why we should care.

I explain how we have not moved the needle one inch in getting federal and state Republicans to comport with the views of the base. Also, I explain why the conservatives' newfound love for judicial supremacy is dumb and why the courts will never work for us. Also, I offer my latest thoughts on the presidential election. My concern is not Trump winning, but that people now believe Trump is God and DeSantis may as well be Mitt Romney. This is going to negate our ability to make red states red because we will continue to elevate the candidates with the most support from an unserious movement rather than those actually putting points on the board.

I explain how Kristi Noem is playing the classic double game of sweet-talking the base while ensuring the policy outcomes are in accordance with the wishes of the special interests. Republicans are able to do this because we have an unfocused and unprincipled conservative media industry. I also offer a legislative update on congressional affairs to show how a lack of pressure campaigns on GOP leaders has led to the failure of many of our initiatives. Finally, we delve into some of the latest news on the presidential primary. Trump is endorsing the worst RINOs for Senate, and his supporters refuse to prod him to the right.

They Are Coming for Your Wealth and Your Children | 7/19/23 Jul 19, 2023

They really don’t want you to have children and prosper as a family. First, we sift through the latest economic data and indicators to show how families have no ability to afford housing and vital living. Recession and stagflation are around the corner, and this is all a legacy of the COVID economic policies. Next, we’re joined by civil rights attorney Brian Fest of We the Patriots USA who warns that even if you can afford a family, the government is making it easier to take away your kids. He details the latest case of medical kidnapping where red-state Missouri government officials have taken away four kids from Amanda and Paul Guidry for using a treatment for autism the medical profession dislikes. There is no evidence of any harm to the child, nor is the government alleging it, yet officials were able to remove the kids without any due process. Brian and I explore legislative ideas to deter frivolous child protective cases and infuse more due process into this process. We can grift by making money complaining about the Left while lacking any ideological core to pursue an affirmatively righteous agenda, or we can craft the best messaging, policies, and strategies to actually implement the ideas we say we believe in. I explain exactly how this would work with the upcoming budget fight and how it should be used to defund the Trump prosecutions rather than simply promoting Trump for president. The truth is that so-called conservative media figures have no ideological core, which is why they ignore opportunities to govern effectively and instead latch onto any shiny object promoted by the grift gristmill.

Today, I let you know what I really think about the state of conservative media. Weaving in the events of the weekend regarding the presidential election, I demonstrate how the top names like Tucker Carlson will negate the very values they claim to espouse in order to remain in the good graces of "clickservatism." No other political movement is so subversive and self-defeating to its own stated goals. This is not about Trump or DeSantis but a reflection of a broader problem we’ve been facing for years, and it’s only getting worse. We have no movement with fixed principles and a strategy, focus, direction, or even desire to achieve particular outcomes. We have an industry of groupies who suffer from a deficit of values, intellect, and initiative and therefore will subvert their own stated objectives with the latest flavor of the day. We are told who and what should be promoted and who and what should be ignored, a determination based on grift and groupthink, not objective truths.
