Ep 181: Kardashian Bonus Show: Khloé for Harper's Bazaar, Analyzed. Jul 15, 2020

Show notes

As promised, before jumping into their recap of Season 2, Emma and Julie did a palate cleanser episode. This week, they looked back at a June 2016 interview that Khloé did with Harper's Bazaar, and of course, analyzed every aspect of it. The feature touched on everything from the family's former relationship with stylist Monica Rose, Khloe's relationship with her body, men, and fame. Emma and Julie highlighted the passages of the interview that they found were the most interesting and inserted background information and discussions along the way. This also seemed fitting, as Khloé discussed her initial hesitation in doing Keeping Up with the Kardashians, her approach to Season 1, and the reasons she now enjoys it. It was a good one.

Ep 180: Pop Culture & Important Conversations Jul 13, 2020

Show notes

There is just so much to unpack this week, from tons of relationship news to serious topics of mental health and anti-semitism. Emma and Julie begin with Will and Jada's episode of Red Table Talk, where they candidly explain Jada's relationship with August Alsina and break down the current state of their marriage. They then report on the horrifying disappearance of Naya Rivera, and some of the details of the story and continued search. Our hearts and prayers are with Naya's son Josey and her entire family. They touch on Armie & Elizabeth Hammer's split after 10 years of marriage.

Emma and Julie have a very important, in-depth conversation about DeSean Jackon's anti-Semitic passage posts, the media attention (and lack thereof) around the story, and some personal anecdotes about their Jewish experiences and heritage.

This week was also heavy in relationship news: hot new couple Chris Evans and Lily James, Brooklyn Beckham's engagement to Nicola Peltz, and Bill Hader and Rachel Bilson's split. Jesse Tyler Ferguson and Justin Mikita have welcomed a son, Beckett, and we are so happy for the new dads! Plus, Ferguson took home both the "funniest comment" and "best clapback" in our award ceremony - with an epic combination defending his new son's name.

Isabel pops in for this week's Bravo debrief at roughly 1:25:26. They break down important elements from this week's episodes of Beverly Hills and New York, plus a few news stories. The Kardashian recap (at about 1:42:00) includes some Larsa Pippen updates, Kourtney's Vogue Arabia interview, and Kylie's stunning Utah trip.

Ep 177: Kardashian Bonus Show: Season 1 Finale Recap Jul 02, 2020

Show notes

Guys, we made it. Emma & Julie concluded their trip down memory lane of season 1 with a finale recap that did not disappoint. This episode begins with Kim's true introduction to the world of fame, when rumors (both true and false) about her dating life start to swirl. She later goes on Ryan Seacrest's radio show to address them all: Terrence Howard, Joe Francis, Pete Wentz and, of course, Reggie Bush. The episode takes a turn when naked pictures of Kourtney and her high school boyfriend resurface, and Kim is overcome with guilt, as she was the last one to have them. They initially contact Kim's ex-husband, since his house was the last place they were at. After receiving valuable information as to their potential whereabouts, they bring in the big guns. And thus, the now famous 'this is a case for the FBI' gif is born. After working with the FBI and personal attorneys, the pictures are recovered, and the person soliciting them was found. The episode ends on a sweet note, with Kim assuring Kylie and Kendall, 10 and 11-years-old at the time, that she would always be there to both protect them and educate them when the time comes that they have an interest to date. It was a great one.

Ep 175: Kardashian Bonus Show: Season 1, Episode 7 Recap Jun 25, 2020

Show notes

Emma and Julie are back to recap another episode of Season 1 KUWTK. Nothing can compare to the sheer brilliance that was last week's episode, where Kourtney and Scott celebrated Kourt's negative pregnancy results in Vegas (and almost ended the weekend with a wedding,) but this was a close second. The episode centers around two main plotlines: Rob's dating life (or lack thereof), and Khloe's journey with Shorty, the homeless man who was outside of Dash. After following Rob on his date with Playboy Playmate Kara Monaco, the sisters get caught and cause some serious awkwardness. Then, Khloé, who initially is a bit insensitive to the situation, decided to take Shorty under her wing - complete with a makeover from Caitlyn's closet and a fresh set of dentures. We are, again, reminded of Kourtney's early KUWTK glory days, as she adds some serious flair to the episode. And, of course, there's just something about an '07 Rob Kardashian that makes you swoon.

Emma and Julie begin with the allegations brought on Chris D'Elia, the outpouring of response, the victim's receipts, his statement, and the response of others close to him in Hollywood. They dig a little deeper into the male celebrity power struggle and the bravery of the victims. They also touch on other allegations that surfaced this week - including against the cast of Riverdale and Justin Bieber. They also explain Chelsea Handler's problematic Instagram post and read through some of her comments defending her decision to post it. They then gush over super hot couple Machine Gun Kelly and Megan Fox, celebrate Beyoncé's surprise drop of "Black Parade," give the latest update on G-Eazy and Ashley Benson, and Angelina Jolie's latest statements about Brad Pitt and their children. In epic TikTok news, they report on how a trend impacted Trump's rally in Tulsa, some of the latest drama with the biggest stars of the app, plus Addison Rae and Kourtney/Mason's friendship. The Kardashian recap includes Travis Scott's epic new Brentwood mansion, Kendall's collection for Kylie Cosmetics, KKW launching a podcast, and so much more.

Ep 173: Kardashian Bonus Show: Season 1, Episode 6 Recap Jun 18, 2020

Show notes

Guys, this was a GOOD ONE. Emma and Julie continue their recaps of KUWTK Season 1, with this whirlwind of an episode. The episode centers around 2 main plots: Kourtney & Scott's budding relationship, and Kendall & Kylie's wish for a puppy. (Julie even recites the handwritten letter that her 11-year-old self wrote to her parents begging for a dog - it's gold.) It kicks off with Kourtney, who has been nauseous and hormonal, taking a pregnancy test. After an initially inconclusive result, which is later proven negative by a trip to the gynecologist, the family decides to take a celebratory trip to Vegas. Before they go, Kris gives in to Kendall & Kylie's wish, defying Caitlyn and buying them a new puppy. Leaving Kendall, Kylie, and Caitlyn at home, the rest of the family heads to Vegas...and things. got. ROWDY. Everyone is wasted, Scott semi-proposes to Kourtney, and they make it all the way to the infamous Little White Chapel before realizing that it was a bad idea. Back in Calabasas, Caitlyn finds out about the puppy, and is less than pleased. This was a RIDE.
