Today we are going to be talking about “Rediscovering the rich treasures of the Psalms.” The church has long used the Psalms as part of its prayer life, and praying the Psalms is one of the oldest and most powerful ways of learning to talk to God. The Psalms have also inspired many genres of music, poetry, and art that we enjoy today! Our guest today, Ryan Whitaker Smith, co-author of the devotional book, “Sheltering Mercy” is here to share a fresh way of reflecting and praying the Psalms.

How to Break Free from the Bondage of False Identities | Brittany Maher & Cassandra Speer Nov 24, 2022
    Show notes

Today we are going to be talking about “Breaking free from culture to find our true identity in Christ.” In our culture today, it is very easy to get lost in all of the hustle and bustle of busyness, social media, comparison, and everything else vying for our attention. It’s so easy to get caught in the trap of seeking our worth, identity, and significance in the things of this world. It’s a dangerous cycle to look in these places to try to find security and approval. This cycle of finding our self-worth in the wrong places can have a domino effect on all areas of our lives and lead to pain, regret, shame, and feeling hopeless. But there is hope! There’s always hope when we know exactly where to find our true worth and security, and that is in Christ. Our guests today, Brittany Maher and Cassandra Speer, co-authors of the book, Her True Worth: Breaking Free from a Culture of Selfies, Side-Hustles, and People Pleasing to Embrace Your True Identity in Christ, are here to share with us why this topic is so important and how it can help us break free from traps the enemy sets to distort our true worth.

Feeling Empty? Try These Words and Actions that Feed Your Soul | Aaron Damiani Nov 03, 2022
    Show notes

Today we are going to be talking about “Stability in a Time of Chaos.” Our culture’s rapid pace of change leaves many of us feeling bewildered and defensive. Our guest today, Aaron Damiani, author of the book, Earth Filled with Heaven: Finding Life in Liturgy, Sacraments, and Other Ancient Practices of the Church will explore how the practices of the ancient church, such as liturgy, creeds, and the public reading of Scripture can help modern Christians rest in the stability and truth of Jesus Christ “who is the same yesterday, today and forever.” He will discuss with us how the peace of these practices gave way to courage and missional living in the early church, which faced the same level of upheaval that we have today.

Achieving Financial Freedom (To Leave Eternal Impact) | Bob and Linda Lotich Oct 27, 2022
    Show notes

Today we are going to be talking about “How managing our money can be made simple.” As Christians, God has called us to manage our money well and to be good stewards of that money. Being responsible with the gifts He has given us and extending that blessing to others is pleasing to God. Inviting Him into our financial planning and goal-setting is a key component to our financial success. So many of us, however, struggle in the area of money management and finances. Not that we intend to ever be irresponsible with what God has given us, but it can be easy to overspend and get caught up in having all the latest “stuff,” and before you know it, you’re in debt, panicked, and looking for a way out. Our guests today, Bob & Linda Lotich, authors of the book, Simple Money, Rich Life are here to help us to see that money doesn’t have to be complicated or overwhelming, it can actually be made simple. They will show us that we don’t have to be financial experts to be successful with our finances.
