    Show notes

Kathi and her best friend, Roger Lipp, are taking the clutter free journey back to the basics. Do you need specific criteria to guide your decision making for what to keep and what to get rid of? Kathi and Roger are here to remind us of the three clarifying questions we should be asking ourselves as we declutter. Join in the conversation to learn the art of how to keep the best and get rid of the rest by knowing and practicing these three questions as you declutter:

    • Do I love it?
    • Do I use it?
    • Would I buy it again?

Listen in as Kathi and Roger explain how asking yourself these three questions can get you past the mental block of clearing out your clutter.

    500 - Tempted to Hire a Junk Removal Service? Feb 15, 2022
    Show notes

Kathi and Roger Lipp are here, up before the sun, with some real talk about whether or not you need a junk removal service. Have you ever thought your clutter problems would all be solved if you could just point at the clutter and someone would take it away? That's a great solution in some situations, but most of the time, removing the clutter is not the real problem - it's making decisions about the clutter. Kathi and Roger have some great tips for getting through the clutter including:

    • Give yourself a hard deadline - Designate a junk/recycling/charity dropoff day
    • Double up your errands - If you know you're going out tomorrow, load up your car with items to donate today
    • "Body-Doubling" - Have someone sit with you, even if it's just on the phone, as you declutter. If no one is available, join us every Wednesday at 11:00am (PT) in the Clutter Free Academy FaceBook group for a 15 min declutter. We'd love to be your body double!

So many of us have complicated relationships with the books in our homes, and it can be so hard to know how or when to get rid of them. Listen in as Kathi and Tonya talk about how they know it's time to "break up" with a book, as well as what to do with them so that they actually leave your house. This challenge includes all things printed and bound including

    • Kids books

Listen in as Kathi and Tonya give great advice on how to get past the mental blocks that cause us decluttering resistance such as:

    • Environmental impact

497 - When You Feel Guilty Getting Rid of Stuff Part 1 Jan 25, 2022
    Show notes

Kathi and her Clutter Free OG, Tonya Kubo, are here to help us get rid of the clutter, and the guilt, at the same time. Kathi's number one goal for herself and us is to only have things in the house that we use, love, or would buy again. A functional home is a home you can be at peace in. We can all achieve this by:

    • Getting intentional at giving stuff away
    • Selling stuff - but only if you're good at it!
    • If you can't give it away or sell it in 3 days... Donate it or Trash it!

You won't want to miss these valuable tips, and be sure to listen next week for part 2!

493 - The Four Critical Strategies You Will Need to Stay Clutter Free For Life Part 2 Dec 28, 2021
    Show notes

Kathi and Tonya are back in part 2 of the four critical strategies we need for staying clutter free for life. Last week, in part 1, we unlocked the secret key of challenges and talked about the power of a calendar.

Fighting clutter is more about how we deal with it on a regular basis than about our circumstances and situations, yet for some reason, we allow our clutter to cause us to feel shame. One of the best ways we can combat that shame is with the motivation and encouragement that comes through the power of community.

There are a million different cluttery circumstances. The Clutter Free For Life Community has people from all kinds of backgrounds, and they really get it. It is really a place to find your people and gain:

    • Great Community that really understands
    • Checklists that keep you on track
    • Interactive coaching sessions

Is a clutter free home on your Christmas wishlist? Clutter Free For Life is on sale until January 6th!
