The new Srixon ZXi irons are here, and there’s a lot to unpack. On this episode of Club Junkie, I’m testing the new Srixon ZXi7, ZXi5 and ZXi5+ irons to see how the three models compare and who each one might be built for.
We also have a really cool conversation with Rob and Grady from the USGA about what actually goes into testing golf equipment. We talk about how the USGA tests clubs to make sure they conform to the Rules of Golf and some of the things that happen behind the scenes before equipment makes it into players’ bags.
And, of course, we found some interesting equipment at the Bank of Utah Championship. There’s a prototype PXG driver that caught our attention, plus a seriously cool custom Scotty Cameron “Circle L” putter made for Zac Blair.

I’m putting the new Graphite Design Tour AD EK driver shaft through its paces, then jumping into the ultra lightweight Aretera AO2 Blue 35 gram shaft. One is all about performance and feel, while the other has me asking just how light you can go without giving up distance, control and consistency.
We’ll talk launch, spin, feel, stability and what each shaft is actually doing during the swing. And yes, I’m going to find out if a 35 gram driver shaft can actually surprise me.
