Episode 418 - Aaron Croft - Combat SAR Pilot Running for Congress Dec 01, 2025

Show notes

Aaron is an independent political candidate running for the US House seat in the WA-05 congressional district. Aaron has dedicated nearly 22 years of service to the United States, including combat leadership, foreign affairs, and diplomatic work at a U.S. Embassy. His military career taught him the value of service, teamwork, and accountability — principles he now brings home to Eastern Washington.

Aaron has deep local ties. He served at Fairchild Air Force Base and chose Spokane as the place to retire with his family. His wife grew up in Elk, WA, and both of their children pursued undergraduate degrees here in Eastern Washington. Their family's roots run deep in the Inland Northwest.

From the battlefield to the embassy table, Aaron's experience translates directly to civilian service: putting people first, making tough decisions, and building bridges between people and communities.

Episode 417 - Dr. Tony Dice - The Journey From Navy SEAL to Meth Addict to World Class Counselor Nov 24, 2025

Show notes

As a Navy SEAL, therapist, paramedic, and firefighter, he's lived at the extremes of chaos and control—from overseas deployments to firefighting, from decorated service to deep meth addiction. His rock-bottom moment came when the pull of meth nearly prevented him from saving his young son during a public health crisis—a crisis that forced him to confront the war within. Dr. Tony Dice is now the CEO of Bishop & Dice Defense LLC, empowering veterans, law enforcement, and first responders to overcome trauma and reclaim their lives.

Emerging from addiction, Tony built a life rooted in truth, accountability, and recovery, creating the Holistic Change Model, a non-drug, evidence-informed approach that blends clinical insight with 12-step principles. His memoir, After the Trident, shares how this model helps heal the "invisible wounds" of those who serve, offering practical guidance for sustainable recovery and long-term life transformation.

Episode 416 - Dan Ellis - The journey to rebuild after losing the brand he spent a lifetime building Nov 17, 2025

Show notes

Today's episodes are some of my favorites. I hate stories of just wavetops, and I love stories about people who refuse to give up on what they believe and have built. Don't sleep on this episode; there is much to be gained and learned.

Dan Ellis has been making performance footwear for 35+ years, starting his shoe-making career at Saucony, where he worked at their factory in Maine, learning each step in the shoe-making process. He went on to work for Adidas and Reebok, making specialized shoes for multiple Olympic and professional athletes. In 2005, DEVCOM (aka "Natick Labs") asked Dan to work with the Navy SEALs to develop a suite of boots, which turned into the brand OTB Boots. One elite unit nicknamed him "Bootmaker to the Good Guys", which is used today as a tagline for the OTB Boot Brand.

-How do I know when it is time to just give up on life?

-I need sleep aids at night. How can I still be prepared for a home invasion?

-Thoughts on hormone replacement clinics

-Struggling with identity and self-worth

Episode 415 - Bear Handlon - A Navy SEAL on a mission to erase 25 Million in Medical Debt Nov 10, 2025

Show notes

Bear served 7 years as a Naval officer in the Special Operations community as a Navy SEAL. He founded Born Primitive in his garage in 2014, the same year he earned his commission. Bear balanced being active duty while building what would become a global brand with zero outside funding.

Prior to his service, Bear played Division I football at Yale University and also competed at the CrossFit Games. Bear became hell bent on creating Born Primitive Tactical after seeing the shortfalls in the gear he was being issued as an operator, while also seeing many apparel brands in this industry that did not actually support those who serve.
