We talk about yet another church leaving the United Methodist Church, a pastor who allegedly shot his son-in-law, and a Christian "celebrity" who mishandled their social media. The challenge with these last two articles is that they have left out information which would have been helpful for analysis. 043 Rick Warren and Southern Baptist Conference Fight it Out: Can Women Be Pastors or Just Abused? Aug 06, 2022

This episode, we start off by talking about the Southern Baptist Conference's decision to clarify their backward attitudes toward women. This was spurned by Rick Warren (a notorious theological liberal 😀) who had the unmitigated gall to make a woman a pastor! The nerve! We move on to a CBN particle which complains about the UK Supreme Court's decision not to keep a child on life support. This highlights not only the all-to-familiar Evangelical fear of death, but it has the distinct ring of CBN trying to use this family's misery for their own political ends. We finish up with another look at a church apologizing for their abuse of indigenous people. This time, it is the Pope in Canada. While the Catholic church has made some (but not nearly enough) efforts to make up for this atrocity, they also have several tribal artifacts that they refuse to return to the tribes. We cap off this lameness talking about a preacher who robbed during a sermon. We can’t figure out how or why he and his wife had $1 Million of jewelry on them to be stolen. This episode we talk a little more about the splitting of the United Methodist Church which is currently underway because of LGBT issues. This time, the UMC's body voted to prevent churches from splitting away at this time. This makes sense because of the way the UMC is organized. What doesn't make sense is the fact that the churches who wished to split sued the denomination in exactly the same way the Apostle Paul in 1 Corinthians chapter 6 said Christians should never do. This person feels that their faith is "beyond shipwreck" because of this and other experiences. We wrap things up with some marveling at the SBC’s lame attempt to be woke when they finally decried the denomination’s role in destroying Native American tribal culture.
