Day 104 | 1 Samuel 17:32–19:17; Psalm 59; 1 Samuel 19:18-24

Today’s reading takes us through one of the most iconic battles in Scripture—David vs. Goliath. But beyond the battle, we see a deeper theme emerging: faith vs. fear. As David fled for his life, he continued to trust God’s promises, writing Psalm 59 in the midst of his trials. How do we respond to challenges? Do we let fear dictate our choices, or do we hold onto faith, knowing God is our refuge? Let’s dive into 1 Samuel 17-19 and see how trusting God in uncertainty changes everything.

The Rejection of Saul and the Rise of David | Day 103 Apr 13, 2025

Show notes

Day 103 | 1 Samuel 15:1–17:31

Today's reading dives into one of the most powerful lessons on obedience in Scripture. God commanded Saul to destroy the Amalekites completely, yet Saul decided to keep what “appealed” to him. Instead of following God's instructions fully, he let fear of the people dictate his actions. His partial obedience led to his rejection as king. But in contrast, we see the beginning of David’s journey—a man after God's own heart. What does God truly desire from us? He doesn’t look at outward appearances but at the heart. Are we living for God's approval or the approval of others? Let’s explore 1 Samuel 15-17 and reflect on what true obedience looks like.
