When the Poor Cat Is the Entertainment Mar 13, 2023

Hey, it’s Amy Newmark with your Chicken Soup for the Soul, and today I’m going to share a couple of stories with you from our newest book, Chicken Soup for the Soul: Lessons Learned from My Cat. What do we learn from our cats? Everything. Our cats make us better people. If we’re sad, they comfort us. If we need to have more fun, they show us how. If we need to heal, they help us do that. And sometimes they are just pure entertainment, making us laugh at their antics and predicaments. Predicaments are what we’re talking about today, and somehow they are even funnier when they happen to cats because cats are generally so composed and basically so superior, especially versus those silly dogs.

Get Outside in Nature to De-stress and Put Things in Perspective Mar 08, 2023
    Show notes

Hey, it’s Amy Newmark with your Chicken Soup for the Soul, and today I’m going to share a couple of stories from Chicken Soup for the Soul: Your 10 Keys to Happiness. This book is the synthesis of what I’ve learned in 14 years as editor-in-chief of Chicken Soup for the Soul, reading tens of thousands of stories from people who bare their souls and talk about what works and what doesn’t work in their lives. I’m excited to share some great examples of what DOES work in this collection, and today I’m going to talk about the importance of getting outside in nature. I think the number of stories that we receive about the benefits of being outside has gone up—probably because the pandemic has caused people to focus more on what they can do safely and what they can do while at home—and they’ve rediscovered the outdoors.
