Patrick Wisdom wins it for Chicago Cubs in extra innings Apr 28, 2022

The Cubs got back in the win column Wednesday night in Atlanta, winning their first extra innings game of the season 6-3 behind a go-ahead double from Willson Contreras and a 2-run homer by Patrick Wisdom late. The Cubs started the game hot at the plate jumping ahead early 3-0 thanks to Seiya Suzuki's 2-run double, setting up another multi-inning outing for Keegan Thompson, who relieved Mark Leiter Jr. in the third inning. He finally gave up his first earned run of the season, but the Cubs bullpen was elite until the 8th inning when Mychal Givens allowed two runs with two outs. In the end it wasn't enough as the Cubs went on to win in extra innings. Cody, Luke and Ryan react to one of the most exciting games of the young season so far.

Marcus Stroman and the Cubs fall 3-1 in Atlanta Apr 27, 2022

The Chicago Cubs dropped their second consecutive game and sixth and their last seven contests after a 3-1 loss in Atlanta Tuesday night. Ian Happ scored and the lone run for the Cubs, launching a homer off Braves pitcher Max Fried. Marcus Stroman had his best start as a Cubs starter going six innings, but it was not enough as the Cubs only got four hits on the night. Cody, Luke and Ryan react and break down the game from our West Loop studios.

Willson Contreras, Cubs can't slide past Pirates, lose 4-3 Apr 22, 2022

The Chicago Cubs dropped their third straight contest and first of four against Pittsburgh Thursday night at Wrigley Field. The Cubs got out to a 3-0 lead but a homer by Dan Vogelbach helped lead the comeback and eventually take the lead for the Pirates. Then Pittsburgh's bullpen took over, allowing just one hit over the last six innings of the ballgame. Cody and Luke react to the loss and what it means heading into Friday's contest. Jose Quintana returns to Wrigley Field to take on Drew Smyly.

Rays defeat Cubs 6-5 in late inning thriller Apr 20, 2022

Cody and Luke react to a thriller where the Cubs never lead but kept things interesting. The Cubs dropped the second of three games against the Rays Tuesday night by a final score of 6-5. Patrick Wisdom and Wander Franco both hit homers for their squads. Nico Hoerner continued his strong play defensively and added a RBI-triple in the late innings to help bring the Cubs within one run, but the Rays held on behind strong pitching in the back of their bullpen. In the second segment we take a trip on the farm and discuss Brennan Davis' home run Tuesday night in Iowa and in the third segment we discuss what partner we'd like the Cubs to put on their sleeves after the announcement that the Padres are putting a Motorola logo on their sleeve next season.

Cubs Begin Homestand with a Win Over Tampa Bay Apr 19, 2022

The Chicago Cubs won their second straight contest on a cold snowy night at Wrigley Field, defeating the Rays 4-2 behind homers from Patricks Wisdom and Frank Schwindel, and a go-ahead RBI single from Ian Happ. The Cubs started the night with Kyle Hendricks but Keegan Thompson stole the show in relief. Cody and Luke react to the game and how the Cubs played on a night where the bullpen was shorthanded and the offense was cold. In the second segment, the guys react to Jake Arrieta announcing his retirement on Pardon My Take. In the third segment, the crew looks forward to Tuesday's matchup with Tampa Bay.
