Chelsea Legend Kerry Dixon joins Stamford Chidge to look back at Chelsea's exit from the Champions' League to Barcelona and look ahead to Sunday's FA Cup quarter final against Leicester.

Kerry looks at what might have been against Barcelona had it not been for crucial mistakes and some poor luck hitting the woodwork several times. Ultimately Chelsea were beaten by the better side over two legs, but is the real issue a lack of quality and goals up front?

Looking ahead to the FA Cup quarter final against Leicester on Sunday, Chidge and Kerry are hopeful Chelsea can win the Cup again. To do so the players have to show the desire to win. If they do their ability should be more than a match for Leicester, but it will be a tough match.

Stamford Chidge is joined by Jonathan Kydd, Dan Silver and Clayton Beerman to look back at a welcome win against Crystal Palace and look ahead to Wednesday night's huge match against Barcelona in the Champions' League.

On the show tonight we ask has not replacing Costa with a proven world class striker hampered us this season and who was the man of the match against Palace.

In part two we wonder what’s up with Morata as he receives his tenth yellow card this season; bemoan Giroud’s bad luck, applaud Willian and say have patience and faith in Christensen.

In part three we ask whether the best strategy for Barcelona will be ‘fortune favours the bold’. How can we get a result; who will Conte pick up front and will we get lucky with the referee?

In part four, we have more of your emails for Jonathan to read out.

The Kerry Dixon Show - Chelsea v Crystal Palace Mar 09, 2018
    Show notes

Stamford Chidge is joined by Chelsea legend Kerry Dixon to look back at the disappointing defeat to Man City last weekend and ahead to this Saturday's match against Crystal Palace and the Champions' League tie against Barcelona.

Was all the negativity about Chelsea's defeat to City necessary or should we show some perspective? Why didn't Conte change things when we went 1-0 down and how would Giroud and Morata feel not being given their role as striker. As a striker himself Kerry has a unique perspective on this.

Give the position we are in the match against palace is a must win, but they have become a bit of a bogey side for us recently and will be no push over. Kerry discusses how he thinks Chelsea will do.

Barcelona will not be easy but it is not impossible as Chelsea has proved before. What does Kerry think of our chances and how can we do it?

On the show tonight we ask should we be worried about Hazard’s future with his frustration at being played as a striker clearly aired during the defeat to City?

In part two we ask why did Chelsea show such a lack of ambition and fight and what of Conte’s future and our chances of making the top four.

In part three we discuss whether attitudes to football have changed. Are supporters more interested in entertaining attacking football than negatively trying to get a result?

Stamford Chidge is joined by Jonathan Kydd, The Reverend Tony Glover and Alex 'The Girl Who Likes Balls' Churchill to look back at great performance but disappointing result for Chelsea against Barcelona and a disappointing result against Man Utd. Let's hope the show is not too disappointing!

On the show tonight we say Oi Morata, stay on your feet and ask does he have a mental or physical problem or both and can he turn it around?

We'll also have the results of our Man of the Match poll.

In part two we say what’s with the negative tactics Antonio Conte or was the defeat down to questionable subs; poor defending; poor refereeing or just poor luck? And is a top four finish now in jeopardy?

In part three we look back to a great performance but disappointing result against Barcelona in the first leg of the round of 16 match against the Catalans last Tuesday. Was the false number 9 the right tactics? Do we have sympathy for Christensen and can we do it in the second leg?

In part four, we have more of your emails for Jonathan to read out.

The Kerry Dixon Show - Man Utd v Chelsea Feb 23, 2018
    Show notes

Chelsea legend Kerry Dixon looks back at Chelsea's draw against Barcelona in the Champions' League and looks ahead to Chelsea's crunch match against Man Utd on Sunday.

Kerry discusses the draw against Barcelona; a great performance but arguably a disappointing result. Does Kerry think that using Hazard as a 'false number 9' worked or would he rather have seen Giroud or Morata start up front? Is it harsh to criticise Andreas Christensen for a momentary lapse of concentration that led to the Barcelona goal and let them back in to the tie? Does Kerry think that Chelsea can get the result we need in the Nou Camp in a couple of weeks time?

Looking ahead to Man Utd v Chelsea, always a big match but with added spice in the context of the on-going feud between former Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho and present Chelsea manager Antonio Conte.

After Chelsea's midweek performance against Barcelona confidence should be high. Will Conte go for the win against Utd or will he be cautious. With Mourinho's record against the top six surprisingly poor as Man Utd manager, will he park the bus?

“Hull Breeched” Chelsea FanCast #415 Feb 19, 2018
    Show notes

Stamford Chidge is joined by Jonathan Kydd, Dan Silver and Joe Tweeds to look back at a confidence boosting 4-0 win against Hull City in the FA Cup and look forward to the Barcelona match.

On the show tonight we praise the wizardry of Willian and ask should he be the number one choice to partner Hazard behind the striker and why oh why does he get so much hate from the trolls?

In part two we reflect on the performances of the young players who got game time and ask how important the win was to restore confidence and bring some calm to Stamford Bridge.

In part three we look forward to another clash with Barcelona in the Champions’ League and recall some of our favourite Chelsea v Barcelona matches from the past. But the real question is going in as underdogs, can we get a result and if so how?

In part four, we have more emails for Jonathan to read out.

The Kerry Dixon Show - Hull & Barcelona! Feb 15, 2018
    Show notes

Chelsea legend Kerry Dixon looks back at a welcome win against West Brom and forward to the FA Cup tie against Hull City and Tuesday night's Champions League match at home to Barcelona.

Stamford Chidge and Kerry Dixon discuss whether Chelsea's 3-0 win against West Brom will lift the pressure on Antonio Conte. With two superb goals by Eden Hazard what do we have to do to keep him at the club and with an impressive debut from Olivier Giorud, will he put pressure on Alvaro Morata and could the two play together upfront?

With one eye on Barcelona inevitably changes will be made against Hull City, but Kerry believes the most intriguing selection dilemma will be whether Giroud or Morata starts up front. Chelsea should beat Hull comfortably whoever makes the team, but Chidge reminds Kerry of the last time Hull beat Chelsea, in 1988 when Kerry was playing.

Both Kerry and Chidge are excited by the visit of Barcelona on Tuesday and while Chelsea are the underdogs there is no reason why they can't get a result. The key is to be in the tie after the first leg. Preventing Messi and Suarez from scoring might be a big ask, but Kerry believes if Hazard is on form and the others raise their game, we can cause Barcelona problems too. It's all set up for an intriguing tie.

“Release the Pressure” The Chelsea FanCast #414 Feb 13, 2018
    Show notes

Stamford Chidge is joined by Jonathan Kydd, Tony Glover and Dan Silver to celebrate a return to winning ways by Chelsea over bottom of the table West Brom. The relief is palpable!

On the show tonight we ask is Giroud the new Terry Butcher or more to the point can he turn Chelsea’s season around?

In part two we heap even more praise on Eden Hazard and not just because we want him to stay and we ask with victory over bottom of the table West Brom has the Chelsea crisis been averted and has it saved Antonio Conte’s pancetta?

In part three we look forward to this Friday nights 5th round FA Cup tie against Championship side Hull City and ask why on earth are we being dragged out on a Friday night!

In part four, we have more emails for Jonathan to read out.
