306 - A new DIY book, and hand wired pedals are sexy May 04, 2020
    Show notes

Brian and Blake are back for another episode of the Chasing Tone Podcast.

So hot on the heels of his DS-1 DIY book, Brian talks about the newest release in the series. Are you ready to get your hands on an depth DIY book on the Blues Driver? Brian talks about it.

And all this E-book talk has got Blake thinking about using the platform to share some of his cooking chops. Could a Tone Mob cookbook be in the making? He discusses it.

And there is a lot of talk about “through hole” vs “surface mount” pedals, but a recent post of the internal build on a pedal really displayed how awesome a hand wired pedal can really be. The guys look into it.

305 - How to get a gear demo channel started Apr 28, 2020
    Show notes

Brian and Blake are back for another episode of the Chasing Tone Podcast.

Last week Brian told you about his new Kindle book on modding the DS-1. And you should go get it, but Brian isn’t done yet. He talks about the next e-book he is about to release.

This quarantine sucks, but there is a positive trend that is pretty exciting. Music gear sale trends are showing that people are looking to make music. From a spike in gear sales to soaring searches for Garage Band, there could be some really cool new music emerging in the near future.

Have you ever watched a gear demo on YouTube and thought “I can do that.” But where do you start? What does it take to get gear companies to notice you or send you stuff to demo? It’s an interesting discussion.

It’s all in this weeks Chasing Tone Podcast.

    304 - Preamps and a new DIY E-book Apr 20, 2020
    Show notes

Brian and Blake are back for another episode of the Chasing Tone Podcast.

A recent visit to a gear forum raised the question of where to place an ADA MP1. In front of the amp or in the effects loop? This leads to a discussion on pre-amps and shows you shouldn’t always believe what you read on the internet.

This quarantine has changed a lot of things in our personal and professional lives. This includes some of the things Wampler does as a company. Brian and Blake take a look at how this all translates to the gear world.

Brian has just released a new DIY Kindle E-book full of DS-1 info and mods. Perfect time to “shelter in place” and do some rad mods on that DS-1 sitting in your closet.

303 - 9 Free Apps and Plugins to help you make music Apr 13, 2020
    Show notes

Brian welcomes Blake back, at an acceptable social distance of course, for another episode of the Chasing Tone Podcast.

Ryan Bruce of the Riffs Beards and Gear YouTube Channel recently highlighted nine apps and programs that are being offered for free or on extended trials to help you make music during these times of quarantine. The guys discuss the list

Blake has gotten his hands on a new guitar from Grez guitars. It is a sweet hollow body baritone guitar that he has grown very fond of.

Brian is toying with the idea of doing some one off custom pedals and maybe using a different build process.

Home workouts, missed calls from Billy Gibbons, and robo calls suck. It’s all in this weeks Chasing Tone Podcast.
