The Power of God's Presence Jan 09, 2023

Show notes

The journey called life can take many twists and turns. Most people try to navigate through it on their own; however, walking the path with God gives us a level of success that the world will never experience. We cannot succeed or be happy without God; we therefore need to actively seek out His presence and constantly remain in it. One of the ways we become aware of Him being present in our lives is by a shift in mindset, from thinking about our sins to thinking about our righteousness in Christ. Another way is to study God's Word daily, which keeps us in constant contact with Him. The benefits are multiple, and include strength, joy, peace, and godly wisdom. Knowing Jesus is knowing God, Himself; pursuing a relationship with Him gives us everything we need.

How to Experience the Love of God Jan 02, 2023

Show notes

One of the most powerful aspects of a personal relationship with God is our faith in His love for us. We must be careful not to get too deep when we relate to God; His love is simple, straightforward, and unconditional, and when we believe in it, miracles start breaking out. When we know God from firsthand experience, we are empowered to do things beyond our natural capabilities. This includes loving people when they do unlovable things and forgiving them even when they hurt us. God is love; experiencing Him is guaranteed to transform us in ways that rule-keeping or self-effort cannot. He heals any issues in our lives and turns brokenness into wholeness. Once we encounter His goodness, we will never be the same.

The Gift Dec 26, 2022

Show notes

There are traditional reasons to celebrate Christmas, and then there are the real reasons. There is nothing wrong with the trees, lights, gifts, and family traditions, but, if we are not careful, we can find ourselves not feeling "the Christmas spirit." We who have been born again can sense this Spirit every day of our lives, because He lives inside us. We celebrate Christmas because, until Jesus came, we were all in bondage and destined for hell. When God sent His Son in fleshly form to set us free, He presented to us the greatest gift of all.

Freedom from Mammon Dec 19, 2022

Show notes

The spirit of mammon has one main goal: to lure us away from trusting God. It tries to wiggle its way into all aspects of our lives, including our finances, and tells us the exact opposite of what God tells us. Mammon says money is the answer to our problems and wants to convince us that it can give us what only God can give us. If we let it, mammon will generate fear in us about our money while putting us in debt; in short, it wants to rule our lives. We can stay free from this spirit by trusting God, acknowledging we need him daily, and being generous givers.

Choose God or Choose Mammon Dec 12, 2022

Show notes

When Jesus talked about money, he also referred to the spirit of mammon that can become attached to it. When we try to serve two masters, double-mindedness is the result. The spirit of mammon leads to the worship of material possessions; when we do more to get money than we do for the kingdom of God, we are under mammon's influence. Mammon wants to keeps us in debt, both financially and spiritually, but applying the word of God in every area of our lives is our way of declaring war on it.

How to Be Free from Mammon Dec 05, 2022

Show notes

When we study the issue of money and how it relates to trust, we cannot ignore the presence of mammon. Mammon is an evil spirit that is never far from money, and it tempts us to trust it instead of God. Mammon is the name of the false god of riches in the Old Testament that the people served; putting anyone or anything in first place instead of God amounts to idolatry. Mammon is not the same thing as money. Money is neither righteous nor unrighteous, but when mammon exerts its influence, it opposes everything God does. We must be aware of how this demonic spirit operates so that we can fight it.

What is Mammon? Nov 28, 2022

Show notes

Jesus did not throw words around, so it is significant that he used the word "mammon" at least four times in the New Testament. When he used it, he did not simply mean money; he deliberately used the word "mammon" to show us what happens when we become attached to money. But mammon's influence does not just stop with wealth. If we are not vigilant, this spirit will extend to every area of our lives and convince us to trust it instead of God. It tries to motivate us to do more things for it than for God, with the goal of replacing God as the source of what we need.

Unmasking the Spirit of Mammon Nov 14, 2022

Show notes

Money is simply a tool, and it does not carry a spirit on it until we take possession of it. If we are under the influence of mammon, which is an evil spirit in direct contradiction to God, that spirit will be passed on to the money we have. If we are directed by the spirit of God, his spirit will influence our management of money. Because these spirits are in complete opposition to each other, we face a decision as to which one we will serve.
