This week on @champandthetramp Frankie and Roger welcome Micheal Frank to the show. Mike has an all to familiar story to so many with his battle with addiction. We all have someone close to us who have battled addiction and many of us have lost loved ones to their struggle. Mike is brutally honest and forthcoming about years of addition to opiates and how it impacted him and quite litterly almost killed him from an overdose. He estimates he was in and out of 25 different rehab facilities around the United States all of which he relapsed after leaving. After hitting rock bottom Mike flew to Mexico high and was actually hallucinating on the plane ride there . He had enrolled in a Holistic/ Spiritual rehab program in Mexico as a last ditch effort to save his life. That was over a year ago and he has been sober ever since. If you’re a fan of collegiate wrestling you’re gonna want to tune into this episode. @coachgoodale is the former coach at Jackson Memorial High School where he coached 4 state champions. He then was offered the head coach position @ruwrestling in 2007. To say the wresting program at RU was struggling when he came on board would be an understatement. Undaunted, Coach Goodale accepted the challenge and completely turned the program around starting with his grass roots recruiting style. Under Goodale’s watch, RU has two individual national titles (Anthony Ashnault & Nick Suriano in 2019), three national finalists, 15 All-Americans, five conference champions (four Big Ten, one EIWA), 80 NCAA Championship bids, 32 Big Ten Conference Championships placewinners and 42 placewinners at the Eastern Intercollegiate Wrestling Association (EIWA) Championships. The program has tallied an impressive 183-79-1 dual meet record during his 14 years, “On the Banks.” @coachgoodale is such a humble guy and great interview and an absolute legend here in NJ.

At first, like most tough guys do he ignored it and waited for it to go away but his condition worsened and after roughly three weeks of ignoring his symptoms and expelling literally only large quantities of blood while doing his business Robert finally told his wife what he was experiencing and she rushed him to the hospital. He’s back on the @champandthetramp show today almost 100 lbs lighter to talk about his very severe case of ulcerative colitis and how it almost killed him and his journey back to health. He was a standout in Highschool and went on to compete at Ohio State University where he became a four time NCAA division one all American. Lance won the PFL tournament in both 2018 and 2019 netting a million dollar cash prize consecutively both years. We really enjoyed this interview with Nick and he opened up on the show and spoke about the most devastating loss to his family, the passing of his 20 month old son Nicholas. Errol graduated the navel academy in 1991 and served on both Seal team One and Seal team Four. After being injured on a seal deployment Errol had to re-examine his life’s purpose and calling as his injuries were substantial enough to not be able to continue his career in the seals. As if the Seals weren’t challenging enough Errol joined the FBI where he investigated international terrorist organizations around the world and shares some interesting stories from those years. After an illustrious 13 year career with the FBI Errol realized he was uncomfortable with the leadership presented within the FBI organization and decided to leave to pursue his true passion, teaching leadership skills. Errol is now the founder of Leader 193 and author of the book The process, Art and Science of leadership. Give this one a listen guys. I promise everyone can take something away from this interview.
