Scripture: Revelation 3:10; I Thessalonians 1:10; 5:9; Romans 5:9; Mark 14:18-19

Topic: Faithfulness

Notes:- Jesus has taken the wrath for us; there will be a catching away of the faithful- The world economy will never recover; crime rate is rising; persecution is on the rise; Islam is taking over; attack on the traditional family; growing intolerance of Christianity; compromise in the pulpit... the anger of God is going to be poured out- I am to be living soberly, righteously, godly, looking for Jesus to return- When the church gets on tangents that insinuate Jesus it loses its momentum and joy- Our joy is in the fact that God loves us... we cannot imagine heaven’s glory or Jesus before He became a man... what He gave up and what He became to save us- God is greater, has greater love, patience and grace than we’ve been told... After we’ve failed and denied Him, He comes after us- The disciples didn’t trust themselves to be loyal- We worry about persevering. The uncertainty is part of the persevering- Not my strength but His. Persevere when you doubt yourself

120715-1030-Loran Livingston - Sanctified by Truth Jul 16, 2012

Show notes

2012-07-15-1030 Pastor Loran Livingston is the speaker this morning July 15th 2012 in the 10:30 service.

Scripture: I Corinthians 6:11; Romans 5:1; Micah 7:15-20; II Corinthians 10:4; John 17:17; I Thessalonians 5:23-24

Topic: Faith

Notes:- Justification is a legal term: a declaration placed upon a person, does not change a person- When God justifies you, He hasn’t cleaned you up but has declared you not guilty, then the sanctification process starts- God chose Israel and was responsible for everything that happened to them- You cannot defeat your weakness; God must do it for you; He will subdue your sins- Not to believe God is able is unbelief; a mental worm, a serpent-like gnawing, tormenting your thoughts- You’re not sanctified because you go to church but because you stand on truth- Prayer and reading

Show notes

Scripture: Hebrews 13:11-14; Micah 7:18-20; Romans 6:1-14; I John 3:9; I Corinthians 6:11

Topic: Sin

Notes:- God delights in mercy; subdues our sin, throws them to depths of the sea- He does not deal with us according to our sins- I am not my own. I owe him everything, though I cannot pay Him back- I died with Jesus and am a new creation; there is a life to be lived, without reservation- Rasputin taught that the more you sin, the more God’s grace will be upon you- You cannot live a life opposed to the righteousness of God and expect His blessing- We were buried and raised with Christ and should walk in the newness of life- Sanctification: the continuous operation of the Holy Spirit to make me holy- I should be more offended by the sin of this world; I should not get used to it- Jesus does not forgive sin, but sinners... makes me want to live a life worthy of Him- A believer prays, reads, and obeys scripture, loves and worships God, is truthful, goes to church, invests in eternal things- A believer does not abuse or live a lifestyle of lust- You are only saved if you put total trust in Christ; you are a new creation

Scripture: II Chronicles 7:14

Topic: Prayer

Notes:- It doesn’t do any good to pray until we humble ourselves- We are totally dependent on God- First step is to humble myself, then to seek His face- Some ministers are anointed but not approved- God is not interested in how much we get done for Him but that we walk in integrity, holiness, humility... so He can work through us- We must turn from our sins and fall before the Lord; He will forgive and heal our land- Prayer of Justice Paul Newby
