120: Glenn McDonald + Al McCoy | Phoenix Suns v. Boston Celtics 1976 NBA Finals | Celtics Beat Classics Aug 30, 2015
    Show notes

It’s time for another episode of Celtics Beat Classics as we go back to the mid-1970s and relive the Greatest Basketball Game Ever played - Game 5 of the 1976 Finals. But before we do, we ask our audience if the famed fifth game of the NBA Finals in Boston was just that. That is our Facebook Question of the Week.

We have two, actually four, very special guests for the show. The founder & CEO of CLNS Radio, Nick Gelso will host the show while his Beats & Eats partner & co-owner of CLNS, Ty Ray will conduct the interviews. The first interview is with the unsung hero of the fabled contest, Glenn McDonald. Another noted name of that night, Al McCoy, the Phoenix Suns radio broadcaster with the infamous “somebody out there is on our side” call will also join the show.

    119: Dennis Scott | Boston Celtics | David Lee | NBA Aug 23, 2015
    Show notes

It’s been a pretty busy off-season for the Boston Celtics with a lot of acquisitions. Many have been dissected endlessly. One that hasn’t been is the pick-up from the Golden State Warriors, David Lee. But LHR will do so on this week’s episode of Celtics Beat. How will he impact the team? What does he bring to the table? And could he presence be a negative? You’d be surprised at the answers. And what should we make of the Celts frontcourt depth? That is our Reacht Question of the Week.

Dennis Scott of NBAtv will be this week’s guest. What does he feel of team chemistry? Can having too much not be a good thing. That and more as LHR will catch-up with the longtime NBA veteran with Celtics and NBA talk on this week’s show.

Check out this week’s edition of Celtics Beat being presented by lynda.com/clns, audiblepodcast.com/celtics, Dr. Ron’s Ultra Pure, Casper, and American Farmer’s Network. Available for download on iTunes and Stitcher Sunday, August 23, 2015. Powered by CLNS Radio.

118: Kyle Draper | NBA Schedule Release | NBA | Boston Celtics Aug 16, 2015
    Show notes

The NBA schedule has been released and the Boston Celtics will be featured seven times on national TV, but not on Christmas Day. What do you think of that? That is our Reacht Question of the Week.

Kyle Draper of Comcast Sports Net New England will return to the show to discuss and breakdown this week’s schedule with LHR. How will the schedule affect the team? And what games should fans be most inclined to see? Kyle will discuss that and add his thoughts on the team and more on this week’s edition of Celtics Beat.

Around the NBA in 5 will of course further delve into the schedule, as LHR will take a look at the whole slate. Suffice to say he’s appalled by how frequently the Los Angeles Lakers will be on television.

So tune into this week’s edition of Celtics Beat being presented by lynda.com/clns, audiblepodcast.com/celtics, Dr. Ron’s Ultra Pure, Casper, and American Farmer’s Network. Available for download on iTunes and Stitcher Sunday, August 16, 2015. Powered by CLNS Radio.

    117: Sekou Smith | NBA Off-Season | NBA | Boston Celtics Aug 09, 2015
    Show notes

There may not be a lot to talk about regarding the NBA in August, but LHR has plenty on his mind with both Boston Celtics and NBA topics. Is one of them contrived? LHR seems to think so, as the primary story regarding the Celtics in August has been on whether or not the franchise should unretire jersies. The host doesn’t have much to say about that, but it is our Reacht Question of the Week.

But back to NBA talk: Sekou Smith of NBA.com will return to Celtics Beat as today’s guest. The doldrums are here. Could that be shortened by lengthening the NBA season? And what else could the league do to cure what little deficiencies the league has?

There are a few NBA storylines, so Around the NBA in 5 will make a triumphant return this week as well.

So tune into this week’s edition of Celtics Beat being presented by lynda.com/clns, audiblepodcast.com/celtics, Dr. Ron’s Ultra Pure, Casper, and American Farmer’s Network. Available for download on iTunes and Stitcher Sunday, August 9, 2015. Powered by CLNS Radio.

    116: Kenny Anderson + Eric Williams | 2002 Boston Celtics | Celtics Beat Classics Aug 02, 2015
    Show notes

Well August is here and it’s time to look back on some classic times in Boston Celtics history. We won’t go back too far, just 15 years or so as we’ll discuss the magic carpet ride during the 2001-02 NBA season Was the Joe Johnson trade worth that Conference Finals run? That is our Reacht Question of the Week

Today’s special guests are two starters on that team, Kenny Anderson and Eric Williams. Kenny and Eric will be around for nearly the full hour of the show and Kenny, Eric and LHR will walk through that entire season on this week’s show.

So tune into this week’s edition of Celtics Beat being presented by lynda.com/clns, audiblepodcast.com/celtics, Dr. Ron’s Ultra Pure, Casper, and American Farmer’s Network. Available for download on iTunes and Stitcher Sunday, August 2, 2015. Powered by CLNS Radio.

    115: Marc D’Amico | Boston Celtics | NBA Summer League | NBA Off-Season Jul 26, 2015
    Show notes

It’s the last week of July and the NBA’s doldrum period is about to begin. The hunk of the NBA off-season has been completed and even the Summer Leagues in Las Vegas and Salt Lake City are over as well. Host Larry H. Russell will supply reaction to both. What are your thoughts on the outputs of the Celts’ young guns in the Utah and Las Vegas NBA Summer Leagues? That is our Reacht Question of the Week

Marc D’Amico was covered the Summer Leagues and other aspects of the NBA off-season for celtics.com. He’ll be returning to the show to discuss things that have transpired over the past month and a half both on the court with the summer leagues as well as the Boston Celtics off-season moves.

LHR goes Around the NBA in 5 as well. 114: Michael Smith | Boston Celtics | Perry Jones III Trade | NBA Off-Season Jul 19, 2015
    Show notes

Another week, another trade for the Boston Celtics. A veteran last week, this week they have agreed to a deal in principle with the Oklahoma City Thunder for forward Perry Jones III. Risk-free pick-up or detrimental to team building? LHR gives reasons as to why he’s not all too thrilled with the move. What about your take on the trade? That is our Reacht Question of the Week

Michael Smith of Prime Ticket/FOX Sports will return to the show to cap off the discussion on the now famed DeAndre Jordan fiasco. First off, what should the NBA do about its moratorium period? And where does this leave the Los Angeles Clippers amongst the best in the NBA West?

LHR goes Around the NBA in 5 as well. So check out this week’s edition of Celtics Beat being presented by lynda.com/clns, audiblepodcast.com/celtics, Dr. Ron’s Ultra Pure, Casper, and American Farmer’s Network. 113: Amin Elhassan | Tom Westerholm | Boston Celtics | NBA Offseason Jul 12, 2015
    Show notes

The hunk of free agency has come and gone as we now possibly shift into trade season. The Boston Celtics still need to round out their roster and may have begun that process by trading for Golden State Warriors big man David Lee. Where does he fit in the rotation? That is our Reacht Question of the Week

But the real question is: Are the Celtics done? And what about the rest of the NBA, what can we expect now as the off-season motors along? Celtics Beat and CLNS Radio welcomes ESPN’s Amin Elhassan and MassLive’s Tom Westerholm to the show to discuss all things NBA and Celtics.

Tune into this week’s edition of Celtics Beat being presented by lynda.com/clns, audiblepodcast.com/celtics, Dr. Ron’s Ultra Pure, Casper, and American Farmer’s Network. Available for download on iTunes and Stitcher Sunday, July 12, 2015. Powered by CLNS Radio.

    112: Sean Deveney | Boston Celtics | Amir Johnson | NBA Off-Season Jul 05, 2015
    Show notes

From the NBA season to the off-season: amassing the roster for the 2016 Boston Celtics and other NBA teams has begun. Free agency kicked off back on Wednesday and the Celtics struck with Toronto Raptors Amir Johnson while also re-upping Jonas Jerebko and Jae Crowder.

Yay or Nay? Larry H. Russell gives it a meh while also talking many fans off the bridge. The Celtics rainy day fun is still loaded and it turns out that certain options just didn’t present themselves. There’s no reason to be upset but unfortunately the patience must continue. In the mind of one LHR, he doesn’t think that Boston being unable to land a big fish is an indictment on Boston but what do you think? That is our Reacht Question of the Week

Sean Deveney of Sporting News will be back to discuss all that transpired and what lies ahead for the Celtics. Attention now turns to the trade market to fill out the roster of the roster. What are potential targets for the Celtics and what does Sean think of the Celts off-season thus far?

Not a bad week to go Around the NBA in 5 either. Tune into this week’s edition of Celtics Beat being presented by lynda.com/clns, audiblepodcast.com/celtics, Dr. Ron’s Ultra Pure, Casper, and American Farmer’s Network. 111: Scott Souza | NBA Draft | Boston Celtics | Cleveland Cavaliers v Golden State Warriors | Boston Celtics NBA Off-Season Jun 28, 2015
    Show notes

The 2015 NBA Draft crept right up on us and has now left us. What many expected to be an active night for the Boston Celtics did not produce as such. The Celts ended up using all four selections, picking up Terry Rozier, R.J. Hunter, Jordan Mickey, and Marcus Thornton. Will they be on the 2016 Celtics come September? That’s a major question mark. We’re also giving our audience a chance to grade this year’s draft for the C’s in our Reacht Question of the Week

LHR will break Thursday night down with MetroWest Daily News Boston Celtics beat writer, Scott Souza. Quite simply, how did the Celtics do and where do they go from here?

Around the NBA in 5 is back as well. Suffice to say there will be a lot to go Around the NBA about. So check out this week’s edition of Celtics Beat being presented by lynda.com/clns, audiblepodcast.com/celtics, Dr. Ron’s Ultra Pure, Casper, and American Farmer’s Network.
