This week, the Consig made a call to the NYC, and a Big 10 California guy answered. THIS IS THE SHOW. Ben Stevens (@BenScottStevens), an outstanding media personality and co host of The Morning After @SportsGrid , joins Dave, Carl & Neuby with the Big Ten Ben edition of the Cash Considerations Show.
Listen as Ben Scott Stevens tells the boys his story from growing up in Calabasas, CA to the move to the Big Apple with a stop in Omaha, Nebraska. After a modest high school athletic career and a broadcast degree from Syracuse University, Ben embarked on a journey to the Midwest and learned about winter winds and Big Ten football, Nebraska style. In two years, he became Big Ten Ben, embracing all sports but especially college football & basketball. From there, the opportunity to make the move to New York City came, and Ben went to the NYC to be on the air at SportsGrid. Appearing in various roles and shows, Stevens is now the co host of The Morning After M-F and In Game Live on Saturdays. He may have mice running around at times, a little avocado stuff in his perfect head of hair, but Ben knows sports and has a few good stories to share. A back up QB no more, B Double S stays for the full round with the boys.
Benjamin, aka the Calabasas Kid, stays to talk sports, and the Baseball bon dia, bon tarde, bon noche is first. Ben is a Dodgers fan, but he likes the Braves to win the NL East. CH agrees, but the PA boys, Neuby & Dave, stick with the Phils. Dave threw out some NL & AL Wildcard odds, and everyone made their pitch. There are no songs this week, but it leads to the first Layin or Takin segment of the season.
College football Week 1 is in the books, and the boys come out of the box with eight games for the rapid fire Layin or Takin College Football segment. Nobody knows shit, and this is everyone's chance to hear the sides & spreads with a little Big 10 spice. Get your pen and paper ready to fade or follow the plays, especially the consensus bangers.
NFL is HERE! So is In the Gun with Neuby. CH has the formula for the games, and Neuby calls the plays out. There is no algorithm, no model, and no chance that you want to miss the back and forth for the NFL debate. Life long Chiefs fan Ben Scott Stevens has plays, as do the boys. Nobody knows what that voice is that Neuby uses to deliver the intro, but there are picks given and shots taken. NFL talk, guns ablazin!
Lastly, the coordinating producer/social media manager/co host Carl H-A-S-C-A-L-L had one question on “Carl’s Corner” segment of the show. But, instead of asking it, he put it in his pocket for next week because of time constraints. The Corner will be back.
As it always does, The Take a Minute segment closed the show on Cash Considerations. CH saw a leaf that means football is here, Neuby said Sundays are for one thing only, Ben says the Big Ten is beautiful and Dave has a one year reminder for everybody about family, friends and football. One minute, always there when you call and always on time.
Sit back, listen in & laugh a bunch to this special September FOOTBALL episode of the Cash Considerations podcast.
